    Disneyland News from September 29th

Here are a few tidbits of info, some from the Cast Member Reference Guide, others from observations and other sources...

Yamibuki didn't open today, and more than likely won't open until October 5th

Autopia closes on Monday, and will remain closed until at least October 23rd

The Jedi Training Academy starts on Sunday at the Tomorrowland Terrace (6 shows scheduled on Sunday)

The Golden Horseshoe did not open today, hopefully will open on Saturday

Haunted Mansion Holiday did open today, and is offering FASTPASS (Networked) - Love the Typo on the large list draping the Mansion... it is Mistletoe, not missletoe (Misspelled MULTIPLE times)

New Maps, now called "Guide to the Year of a Million Dreams" were released for both Disneyland and DCA, both Halloween Time themed.

The New Turnstile Podiums will be installed over the next two weeks that feature the large screen that will show your color photo if you are an AP at ALL turnstiles. The new Print at Home option will be called "Disney's E Ticket", which should start around mid-November.

Not really, it's just the off-season. Attraction closure is a small price to pay for the sake of safety and TLC, not to mention progress.

Oh, and I saw you Darkbeer, I was with Sadako and thejoshualee today

Maybe they meant to misspell mistletoe.

It could be spelled wrong just like Sandy Claws is on the sign. Like in the movie, Nightmare Before Christmas, the things that the Halloween people think are good, are actually bad. So that would mean that "missle" to them is a good thing, even though it really isn't. So maybe they did that on purpose. Idk.

If someone has some pictures from HMH from the past, maybe we can tell.

At least it isn't spelled missile:

Unless your enjoyment of Disneyland is exclusive to Matterhorn, Autopia, and the Monorail- then no. Something to the tune of 30 attractions are still open, complete with a daily parade. All told there is still an astounding amount of stuff to do for non-peak season, and usually with little waits.

I noticed when I picked up park maps to DCA and DL today that both maps have on them "Guide to the Year of a Million Dreams". And yet... nothing in the maps mentions the Year of a Million Dreams. What's up with that?

I was going to say the same thing. I bet it is meant to be misspelled. Jack Skellington was not known to be all that bright, so probably goes along with the character.

    As of Saturday September 30th, the following Disneyland attractions or facilities are closed;

    Matterhorn Bobsleds
    Disneyland Monorail
Tomorrowland Terrace Stage (opens Sunday, October 1st)
Fantasyland Theater (opens Friday, October 6th)

So yes, like you said, "everything in Disneyland is closed".

    Thanks for the update!

This might be one of those "dumb" questions, but i'll ask it anyway...

Barring major renovation work or altering the ride (which I haven't heard is the case), what takes so long that Autopia is down for about three weeks? I mean, it's a pretty simple ride. No fancy computer system or electronics to deal with. Concrete, guiderail and cars, that's about it. Shouldn't the cars be maintained on a rotational basis anyway? What else would take that long? The little animated Chevron cars in the queue? (hehe)

    Not mad, just curious...
