After Fantasmic! last night there was no wait on Splash Mountain, so Manabyte and another friend and I figured it'd be a good time to go on. During the third ride, we and three or four other logs got stuck on the first drop by Bear Bear's house. Normally during the day we'd probably be stuck there until they fixed it, but since it was 11:30pm, I guess they figured it wasn't worth keeping us up there so we got ride evac'd. As soon as the lights went on we screamed "RIDE EVAC!!!" and the other people didn't understand why we were so excited. So, of course, we had to explain it to them.
Anyway, I took pictures. Some of these are backstage on the ride so if you don't want the illusion spoiled for you, read no further. Also, a bunch of these pictures are fuzzy because Manabyte said they'd be angry with me if they caught me taking pictures so I shot a lot of these off-the-cuff. So I apologize in advance for some of the fuzzyier shots.
The first pictures are from the log before the Cast Member arrived to assist us off the ride. This is after the lights came on and we cheered our eventual evac.
With flash. Just for comparison's sake.
Eventually our rescuer arrived in the form of a friendly Cast Member. This is one of those fuzzy shots I warned you about.
The two girls in this shot didn't seem too pleased that I was taking pictures of them, so I'm hiding their identity. Not that you could tell who they are in these fuzzy shots, but I want to be respectful of their feelings anyway.
Here's a close-up of Brer Bear's mailbox with some people in the shot. Not terribly exciting but it shows we were up on the path there.
Quick shot inside Brer Bear's door. Apparently they use it to store lightbulbs.
Eventually we were escorted inside the mountain where you could see the understructure of the mountain and the beams and girders and stuff. Not sure what the technical term for it is. But here's a picture anyway.
Next we went down a bunch of steps...
...and finally passed by the bog...
...before exiting the attraction backstage. I didn't want to risk taking pictures back there, so I didn't. But then they gave us a Choice Fastpass for our group, so we rushed over to Space Mountain before the park closed.
We had quite a full day yesterday. I'm really tired now.
Hope you enjoyed the story and pictures.
