I get a lot of vacation questions as people learn of my Disney fandom. I am always willing to help. We had friends that wanted to go to Disneyland with us because they felt like they were with insiders. I don't really know what that was all about but I was glad to escort them around.

Re: Have you considered yourself a Disney Specialist??

Everyone in my family used to consider themselves Disneyland Specialists. Of course, now that I work at the Opera House, I'd say I have them all trumped. Not to brag or anything, but it is my job to know all about the history of the park. As for the other aspects of the park, well, as evidenced by the Rally, I'm good, though not nearly as good as some.

nope....I actually try to hide that I go once every month or so. However, the disney stuff on my desk gives it away. I have answered a few annual pass questions, but I don't go into anything in great detail. I don't liek the odd looks I get, but I used to work next to another annual pass holder and we would have some good conversatins, but she moved.

There are two of us in my group of friends who are considered that, me and another friend...

But she's been saying lately that they are gutting Jungle Cruise to expand Pirates. (But of course she always says things like that.) Still waiting for Will.

So with the execption of a few friends who actually beleive (spelling) her they come to me for planning. (One even joked about bringing me along as a tour guide.)

If by specialist, you mean that people no longer make eye contact and back away slowly, then yes. I am considered a specialist.

Do you know what is going to replace the 50th exhibit? Or is all that going to stay for a while? And do you know that one of the nametags in the exhibit was never worn at Disneyland?

I love helping friends and family plan their Disney Vacations. What's troubling is that once they have gone with me, they don't want to go back by themselves. They're afraid they'll miss something or won't know what to do. I tell them 'just go, don't worry about a plan, you'll have more fun just discovering things for yourself and letting things happen'. I either made it look way too easy or way too hard, I'm not sure which!

When the subject of a Disney vacation comes up, I get a lot of "rolling of the eyes". Does that count?

In the kingdom of the blind, the one eyed man is king.

I can't hold a candle to the likes of many around here who know arcane facts like the loading pattern for PoTC, where to find white hot chocolate, and the location of the hidden Walt Disney statue. However, in my neck of the woods if you know how to make the most of the fastpass system, what a rope drop is, and how to make the most of early entry then you're gold. So yes, I am "the man" for Disney info in my little township.
