Video of the robbery on line

Video of the two robberies at the Mickey and Friends parking booths has been posted on line. Anaheim PD is hoping that someone will be able to ID the people or cars. As you can see the quality of these small dome cameras is not very good. Looks like they actually entered the lot and then did a u turn to get out. I guess traffic cones won't stop someone when they are committing a crime.

What are we going to do to keep the gangs of well dressed men from robbing the parking lot? How will they be able to tell which well dressed men are there to rob them and which are just there to be robbed?
Check out my new Disney Blog here. What it lacks in quality it makes up with... Well, nothing I guess.

The surveillance cameras couldnít get the face or the tags on the car? Sounds like itís time to invest in some real cameras.

Wow, that's amazing. The robber had a new porsche, a passenger, and was well dressed with a fedora.

To those that want to enforce restrictions based on stereotypes, are you watching?

Excellent point. The 91 Fastrak and other toll roads here in SoCal zoom in on your license plate and ticket you if you don't have a transponder OR evaded the pay booth.

Why can't Disney have this? It shouldn't be that difficult - but then this is all new......so I'd think they will hopefully invest in this.

But look at the picture on the webpage listed (if you click on it, you can zoom in and center on the plate). The car had no plates! It was a new car. So even the best camera couldn't have caught the plate or tag number.

The reporter said the surveillance camera couldn't pick up the plate on the cars? You would think that they would have good cameras in the entrance?

They'll catch them. When I went yesterday the line to get into the parking lot was super long and I was wondering what was going on. I only saw a couple more security than usual, oh and when I left there was a p.d. car in the entrance. That was the only difference I noticed.

The cameras on the 91 even enhance your face.

In reguards to suggestions for better cameras I'd be tempted to say things like:

But experience has certainly shown, crooks are stupid. That's why they are crooks. So I'll have to agree, add an HD security camera or two.

I noticed on the Porsche - no plates, but the second car - the Toyota - it DID have plates.

Regardless - a new security photo system is in need - obviously.
