    Tom Sawyer Island/DCA changes

With al talking about the new propsal for TSI, what do you think about them, and what do you think should be done instead if you find the plans dreadful.

Secondly, what do you think about all the changes in DCA, the placemaking, the villians retheme on screaming, incredibles and other rides added, and other ideas, and add your own.

For TSI, i think the pirate theme, while a great idea to bring the least popular part of the park back into the public, is just too much pirate going on. You never see a reocurring theme in DL, you dont see a haunted mansion play area, so instead they should keep it TSI themed, and just totally reamp the island, making it a fun place for adults and kids, with a theater where the fort is at, giving a live tom sawyer show, or just adding a ride into that area or making the area a whole new land, maybe villians island, and fog will roll out of it.

For dca, the plans they have i think are absolutely amazing, the new managment at WDI is now back to the old days with not only making great ideas, but having the budget, and plussing their ideas, with the trasportation system, and a way to keep the DCA name, but making it seem amazing, i cant wait till this is all said and done, my hats off to WDI

A Pirate Island sounds like an interesting idea, however, it's going to take a big chunk out of Frontierland. It's time the Pirates get their own land somehow attached to Adventureland. How about re-theming New Orleans Square to Port Royal or Tortuga?

Better idea than making Tom Sawyer's island different.

imo, thats a seriously bad idea going against walt like that, that was his favorite land, his pride and joy, and i dont wanna see it being over ran by what the public wants now, if they can keep NOS and just combine pirates and TSI into port royal or tortuga im fine, but a complete retheming of a land as precious as that, is just plain mind numbing

DCA ideas are great...Im at a crossroads though, for the TSI re-theme. Part of me says add a new e-ticket, part says to leave it alone, and yet another says to make it a cool pirate island

Ok, how about getting rid of Downtown Disney and putting in a Pirates themed land there?

I do believe that changing TSI to a pirate theme is absolutely awesome. Disneyland has been stagnant for way too long and all the changes made for the 50th is a step in the right direction. Walt always said that as long as there was imagination in the world that Disneyland would never be completed. Keeping TSI the same for as long as it has been was just wrong. The changes they have made to the island were all steps in the wrong direction but now with a total revamp, awesome idea.

    1) We dont need more Pirates I LOVE THE MOVIES but enough is enough Disney would hate his idea being over used.
    2) DCA needs anything it can get.

I actually think Walt would love the idea. He has said numerous times that POTC was his favorite attraction in the park. Besides the world has moved on. Kids no longer want adventure of the likes of Tom Sawyer but more of the likes of Jack Sparrow.

I'm not slamming you Walt Jr. but my point has just been made when I said that the Disney Purists are all going to be up in arms about this. I like the pirates idea myself but I'm actually up for ANY type of retheming of the Island. Pirates or no pirates. Put in an e-ticket ride. Retheme it into Villian's Island. Just retheme it already.

    Re: Tom Sawyer Island/DCA changes

unfortunately, DL has pretty much run out of space for new things (i know! i know! festival of fools area! and one or two other places! dont jump at me quite yet!)

changes are a neccessary part of the park. we unfortunately cant keep everything the park already has and still expect new things to be added as well.

im gonna miss TSI as much as everyone else, and already regret that i havent visited it all too often in recent years, but it just might be time for a change, so long as its a well done one...

that said, i still need to think about the pirates theme a bit to see how i feel on it....i really like the idea of a villians island, kudos to whoever posted that idea! that could be a really cool experience, and that island is big enough for a fairly sizeable e-ticket, 1-2 d/c-tickets, and still have lots of room for exploration and adventure we love at TSI (heck maybe when you enter a cave you could run into animatronic villians/scenes, it could be pretty cool)

like i said, still need to sleep on the pirates idea and see how it hits me in the morning....

So much attention being given to the DLR is wonderful. Some changes might be hard to swallow, but hey, I'm game. They're not investing so much just to spoil things. They are planning to make IMPROVEMENTS. It's odd, but the change mentioned that struck me the hardest is the possibility of demolishing the DLH. I know that its condition isn't very good any more. Duct tape can't fix everything and I guess something has to be done, but I hope the new facility will still have the magic. And I hope it can still be reasonably priced. Dream on.
