I have to say... I am torn about two of the shows I saw at the former Videopolis, now Fantasyland Theater.... My fav shows there were: One Man's Dream (which was replaced by Dick Tracy's show), and the Mickey Mouse Club reunion show they did with the original Mouseketeers. Pure heaven!!!

I also did enjoy Mickey's Nutcracker, Beauty and the Beast, and Animazement. Great shows there at the Fantasyland Theater.... Oh the memories... snif.

The Fantasyland Theater was in (approximately) the space currently occupied by the Pinocchio attraction. It used to show Winnie-the-Pooh and Mickey Mouse shorts and was a lovely air-conditioned place to hang out for 20 minutes. It also had a tiny stage that wasn't used in my lifetime for live shows, except for the Disneyland Employee's Theatre Group. I remember seeing a really fun production of "Once upon a Mattress" after work one night when I was a sweeper.

I've always thought they should open a Toontown Cinema to replace the original Fantasyland Theater.

So, yes, there was a Fantasyland Theater. It was nothing like the huge amphtheatre that now exists, nor was it in anything like the same piece of real estate.

I still recall seeing several Mickey Mouse shorts there when I was young. I clearly remember seeing "Mickey's Trailer" there several times. They showed the films on a continuous loop, and there was never a wait between shows. Ahhh, the memories!

My fondest memory of Walt Disney was the day Disneyland opened....I was standing next to him - I was 12 years old - he was looking at the gate where people were coming through, he had his hands behind his back, he had a grin from ear to ear, but you could see the lump in his throat and the tear coming down his cheek because his dream had been realized. -- Mouseketeer Sharon Baird, "Mouseke-Memories", Walt Disney Treasures: The Mickey Mouse Club
