So, which one is it? Tell me, tell me, tell me!...and I'm adding in Festival of Fools because it could have been there and stayed there....but, alas....

Actually, the last one I watched (and remember) was Dick Tracey's show. Unless that was a dream (it could have been. Am I crazy?)
Well, light travels from the sun. Then, bounces off of our planet, and back into our eyes so we can perceive color. My body can intercept that light and dance around on it!

That was when it was still Videopolis. Beauty and the Beast was too. But, it ushered in the Fantasyland Theater era...so, I put it in there.
In my mind, Videopolis and Fantasyland Theater are one in the same; its just a matter of set dressing.
Having said that...
One Man's Dream was the best show I ever saw in that venue. Not to be confused with the movie at WDW, Disneyland's stage show was a tribute to the dreams that built Walt's empire. The music was fantastic, the costumes and special effects were amazing (A black and white stage, including black and white classic Mickey & Minnie characters, changed into color before your eyes. Peter Pan and Wendy flew from the pirate ship all artound Neverland.). One Man's Dream was replaced by Beauty and the Beast (or was it Dick Tracy in Diamond Doublecross?) in 1990 for Disneyland's 35th anniversary.
While I loved Beauty and the Beast (that's what I voted for), I really thought that One Man's Dream was the perfect tribute for a Disneyland anniversary.
I also thought the Dick Tracy show was a lot of fun ("Cigars, Cigarettes, SinSin..."), but I didn't think it really "fit" at Disneyland.

Just because it's gone doesn't mean I changed my mind!
Shouldn't "none" have been a response?
I enjoyed Beauty and the Beast the most of that lot, but wasn't "sad" to see it close.
I was more sad when they first built that inappropriate structure in Fantasyland as Videopolis. I still hope it goes away one day.
Hey Merlin, what's inappropriate about it? Do you mean Videopolis was inappropriate?Originally Posted by merlinjones

Festival of Fools was never in the Fantasyland Theater, it was over behind Thunder Ranch.
What, no votes for Plane Crazy? The early 90's Disney Afternoon extravaganza?
I pick dancing at Videopolis over any of these.
Yeah, I also have to point out that the Hunchback show had its own unique theater, and ran at the same time as Pocahontas (which got my vote.)
Mickey's Nutcracker really was the most fun, though.
So full of Disney Magic, my eyes are blue.
As I stated in the original post I am aware of the fact that Festival of Fools had it's own venue and that Beauty and the Beast wasn't in Fantasyland Theater it was in Videopolis. It did usher in the name change though because it went from being more of a "Videopolis"(whatever that is) to being a theater. However, Festival of Fools was a GREAT show with AMAZING singing and could have easily been put into the Fantasyland theater. So, that's why I put it in there. I was fully cognizant that there were shows before the name was changed and that Festival of Fools was not in that theater.
I'm not sure why you have a problem with the theater being there. I can understand that Videopolis was a bit out of place. But, that theater in whatever form and in whatever place has been there almost always since the opening of the park.
Isn't our ideas of tomorrow in tomorrowland fantasy anyways?![]()
Videopolis was my biggest memory from all of these.
I didn't have a problem with Videopolis. It just didn't seem to "go" in Fantasyland. But, when I was that young it seemed like a club for older kids and young adults to go to. It wasn't something I was interested in. So, I was glad when it became the theater.
No, the venue opened as Videopolis in the '80s and was remodeled into the Wonderbra theatre a few years ago. Prior to that, it was backstage area, and the main performance stage was in Tomorrowland, where Honey is now. The Tomorrowland stage was actually in that same spot before Space Mountain was built.Originally Posted by neuhickman79
