Did you like, or dislike, the Mary Blair murals at Disneyland? Why?
I personally did not like them because I am not an abstract art fan. But I do think they did a good job adding to the Tomorrowland atmosphere.

I guess they were one of those "You don't really miss it until it's gone" things. Did I LOVE them not really, but do I wish they were back in place YES!

I liked how they were original.

I never really noticed them when they were up, but I'm not a fa of her work and I do not miss them.

I enjoyed the murals but I always thought they were out of place in tomorrowland. I think she could have done some great murals to line the walk back to small world.

I don't think Mary Blair's artwork would be considered "abstract". :???:
Personally, I love Mary's work and I miss seeing the murals in Disneyland. However, they absolutely don't fit in with the way Tomorrowland is currently themed. However, it would have been nice if Disney could have saved the murals and reinstalled them in the Small World Mall.

I liked them but they did not belong in Tomorrowland.

I feel the same way. Although I must admit at first I went...what? who? So I googled them and then went oh....those. I liked them, but thought they belonged elsewhere.

Precisely how I feel.
I like the murals and other Blair works, but I always thought they were out of place in Tomorrowland. Relocating them instead of destroying them would have been a much better option.

I agree, but probably for a different reason...in my opinion, the way Tomorrowland is "currently themed" leaves a tremendous amount to be desired, so the Blair murals fit in with the Tomorrowland in its prime, 1967-1998.
And for the record, I loved them, and felt they fit right in there, in the Tomorrowland that once was one of my favorite areas of the park.

I don't like them because I just don't care for her artwork, although her mural in the Contemporary concourse isn't so bad.
On that same note, I wouldn't have cared if the TL murals found a new home at the DL hotel, but obviously they didn't. I found their art style irrelevant in either Tomorrowland 98 or Tomorrowland 07, but the hotel has a fun retro theme going. Oh well.

I loved the Blair murals.
I miss them.
Mary was one of Walt Disney's most original and inspirational artists - - and one of his own favorites. If their dream for Tomorrowland was a spirit of international unity, that lovely vision should have remained.

I think there should be a place for Mary Blair art just about anywhere.
I really dug her design, and it is interesting that a lot of modern cartoons and animation are a bit of a throw-back to her.
The use of colour was always interesting, and her sketches are something I could look at for hours, regardless of whether they were attached to a Disney theme park project or not.
