Actually, I think it did. It's the building next to the circular buiding on the
    lake, left of the
center of the picture. It's right next to the monorail tracks. Right below (it
actually looks like it's connected) is PotC. They're on the other side of the
    railroad.

There would have been a new hotel inspired by the Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa in Walt Disney World according to the concept picture.
Dumb, since the real Hotel Del Coronado is in nearby San Diego.

Really, all the documentation about this product is nice if you're one of those people who can't have enough information, but what they have built is more important than what they didn't. I don't need to know what WestCot is to know that DCA isn't as good as it should be, and that nothing will be as good as people will expect when it sits next door so close to Disneyland.

I don't think you will ever see "Westcot" at least not in our lifetime. There is still a third gate in the future plans but at this time it appears that a waterpark is what is being discussed. There is already a location picked out for this third gate.

The "E" and "Ep" in EPCOT Center and Epcot doesn't stand for anything really. Epcot doesn't exactly bear much resemblence to EPCOT.

Re: The "Long-Lost" Disney theme park: WestCOT

Everytime I read something about WestCot, or see concept art, I get really sad.

What an incredible park it could/would have been.

    Instead we get DCA.

Interestingly though, the infrastructure for a WestCot park is there. Paradise Pier = World Showcase, anyone? Hollywood Pictures Backlot and Golden State = Future World East and West?

All they need is a big bulldozer.

I kid. But it would be nice, wouldn't it?

Actually, as it stands now, nothing in the word "Epcot" stands for anything, including the "E" and "Ep."

Originally, we all know that "E.P.C.O.T." was Walt's vision of an "Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow" that was to be built at the Disney World complex.

Walt's vision of a Disney-built prototype community lives on through Disney's "Celebration, FL" but that community is nowhere near the original scope and size and futurism that E.P.C.O.T. aimed for.
