I've done both ways and I don't really have a preference. If you don't like navigating interchanges, then the 10 to 57 is your best bet. I used to go the 10, 91, etc and then someone suggested the 10-57. There is another thread on this back a few months ago. http://www.micechat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26772
Stalking is when two people go for a long romantic walk together but only one of them knows about it.
For the last 2 years, we've gone the 10 to the 60. Stay on the 60 til it merges with the 57, and take the 57 south to Katella. Same thing in reverse coming home. I've never had a problem taking this route, it's about 4 miles further, but averages about 20 minutes faster by avoiding back-ups on the 91. I'll never take the 91 again. I've gotten backed up for 2+ hours between Corona and Riverside before, and there's nowhere else to go once you're hung up in traffic.
Believe it or not, I've always done the 10-60-91. We even did it Labor Day weekend. The only bad experience I had was going through there at rush hour, but leaving for CA at 2am was not my choice. Just be patient. I know it's a mess during the reconstruction, but a little patience goes a long way. I have found most CA drivers are more courteous than they're made out to be. Once you start getting away from the 60, you can go about 65 no problem. The only areas where there might be a little slowdown is in Corona with the 15 and with the 57. I always try to go through past 3 or 4. The rush hour is going the other way. I always exit the 91 at Harbor/Lemon St. exit and go down Harbor Blvd to the resort area. Unless you really have a lot of problems on the same stretches of freeway, it's all in your head
We have tried all the different routes and have decided the easiest and seems to be less congested traffic wise is the 10 to the 57. But as you will see if you read through my OP that DLandFansAZ provided there are a number of different routes available. I say get an AP and try them all.
