One of my prior posts got me to thinking about what Disney should do to Autopia. What do you guys think? Keep it as is? Remove it to add a new attraction? Just upgrade it? What do you all say?

Leave it alone.

It's fine. Kids love it, I love riding with my daughter. It would be a travesty to remove it.
I would just update the queue to match the more white/blue colors that are now returning to Tomorrowland.

It was just updated not too long ago. But I think you can expect to see the Pixar "Cars" characters in the not too distant future. The main sticking point is the current Chevron contract (they have their own characters featured in the ride).
I've also heard that they are considering switching to the same kind of electric cars that Hong Kong uses (Which also automatically prevent bumping). This makes sense. They also have on-board audio in Hong Kong. It would be a nice upgrade for aesthetic, environmental, and safety reasons.

I say remove...unless it can be changed into more of a sci fi attraction with lunar like surfaces, alien environments, maybe some caves with special effects in them? Make it more sci-fi and futuristic.
Leave it alone, I like the changes that are already made.

I say update it. At least the cars. I can't stand the cars themselves.
I would guess they will update the cars themselves once they are allowed to in regards to their Chevron contract. The ride itself is so popular with smaller kids that it'd be a shame to remove it.

I think it would be cool if they added a part on the track that likened back to the old speed tunnel from the Peoplemover. Of course it would mean going thru an enclosed tunnel, but it would give the feeling of being in a big race.
Disneyland is the right of all sentient beings.
Leave the ride... update the scenery along the way. As it is, there's not a lot to look at back there. Having Nemo done will help, but there are a lot of places where there are just some billboards, road signs and nothing else.
Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. I think most kids like the way it is. I don't have children myself personally so I don't go on that ride, mostly because I already drove to Disneyland ... and I don't need to wait in line to drive again. ;-)
Faster cars!
