You're right I just meant to point out that some parts were shuffled around, although your layout definitions are absolutely correct. Like from these three pics:

SpaceStation Earth was moved from the entrance and became Grizzly River Run. The big lake was moved south and became PP, being replaced by the GCH and DTD. Anyways, just some things I thought I saw...

This has been one of my biggest issues, that the GCH and parts of DTD were placed in what could have been a bigger park.

Re: A real DCA survey, very interesting... What are YOUR choices?

    #3 More family rides
#4 more or better themeing on existing rides and attractions
#16 Change the "California" Theme of Park...(like the ideas of previous posters either an America Theme Park or a Westcot Theme Park)

    Most important? probably #3

The first part was a lot of "fill in the blank", where they asked a lot of open ended questions...

(And it looked like it was from the "DCA Problem" side of TDA...)

    Things like...

How would you describe DCA to your friends and family

How would you describe Disneyland to your friends and family

What things do you like about DCA

What things do you think need attention at DCA

    Etc...

    Then they had this question....

If you had the chance to improve DCA, pick up to 3 of the following choices....

    1. More Thrill Rides

    2. More Rides for Young Children

    3. More Family Rides

    4. More or Better Themeing on existing Rides and Attractions

    5. More Stage Shows

    6. More Parades

    7. More Disney Characters

    8. Add a Fireworks Show

    9. Different Music

    10. More Benches/Places to Sit

    11. Better Atmosphere

    12. More Flowers and Landscaping/Shading

    13. Better Guest Service

    14. More Staffing / Employees

    15. Change the Name of the Park

    16. Change the "California" theme of the Park

    17. Longer Operating Hours

    18. Lower Ticket Prices

    19. Lower Prices for Food, Beverages and Merchandise

    20. Better Quality for Food, Beverages and Merchandise

    21. More Places to buy Food, Beverages and Merchandise

    22. Transporation within the Park

    23. Shorter Lines or Fewer Crowds

    24. All of the Above

    25. Other (Fill in the Blank)

    26. None of the Above

The second question was which ONE of the list is the most important to you in improving DCA

So here is the question, and I am asking you NOT to use choices 24 thru 26, but the individual choices... Which THREE would you choose? And then which one of those three is most important to you?
DArkbeer, can you send me the questionaire to fill out and send? I would love to do it

You can't? Doesn't the DLR drop you off pretty close to both of those? It's nice for disabled people or people with small children to take the DLR around the park, none of the lands are too far from a station except arguably Critter Country. Not so in DCA.

I'm just talking about some circular path and/or transportation... heck, even just another connection between the TofT street and the rest of the park! If I go over to TofT and get a FP, there's almost nothing to do near there except the Animation building (I don't count Monsters Inc because I've been on it twice, and geez that's plenty, plus for some reason, it always has lines). If you want to ride something else while you wait, you have to head across the park to GRR, etc, and there's no way to avoid the entrance plaza congestion when there's a parade/show/whatever going on.

Yikes, you're right, I totally forgot about the railroad. I was thinking of the skyway, and the main street vehicles, but forgot about the MAIN transportation, the railroad, which I love.

Thanks for the correction, but what does my job have to do with my opinion on transportation?

4-i concede, theming on many things is not so great (though i have argued otherwise in other threads )

12-that place has a serious lack of shade!!!

17-it just seems like it is not open long enough for me to truly enjoy it like i'd like to
    I'd rather be at Disneyland

I'd say if I had to rank the top three, I'd say that they have to be as follows:

    1. Better theming on existing Rides and Attractions (think Pirates/Haunted Mansion/Indiana Jones);

    2. Lower ticket prices. I struggle with this, but part of the problem is that there is no perceived value for the same price as Disneyland tickets, with much less experience and attractions.

    3. More flowers and landscaping. Shade is a must during the summer, and the detailed theming of flowers and trees that Disneyland has is sorely missing from DCA.
Not sure what existing attractions in DCA you think could be brought up to the level of Haunted Mansion, Pirates, or Indy?

I don't think there are any existing attractions that could do that, that's why I choose more Family attractions, (and I don't consider anything in Bug's land a family attraction. And there really is only one "dark ride", Monster's, which does have a slight adult appeal, but nothing to the extent of HM, Pirates (which I consider family attractions) ,
or Indy (which I do consider more of a thrill ride due to the warning signs)

Even though some of us are choosing different answers, when
you look closer at the reasons for our choices, our answers are
really a lot more similar than they appear at first glance.

Many have said that the newer park needs
attractions themed and detail such as those like
Haunted Mansion and Pirates. Attractions that
keep the interest of both adults and children,
This park is definitely deprived of elaborate
    dark rides.

In addition, landscaping and overall atmosphere
and theme of the park is important. Evidently, DCA
missed the target, and needs more vegetation, flowers,
grassy areas, streams and rivers. The vegetation is
so lacking compared to what is found in DL.

The fantasy element is also missing from most of the park.
The park doesn't take you to any places that are that out of the
ordinary, (Tower and Flik's, and Monsters being the exceptions
and were added after DCA opened) These areas are
no where near as "magical" as the old west, a tropical
    jungle, etc

But, that just leaves the question on what should the
theme actually be. THAT question needs to be addressed
1st, before anything new starts up. THEY need to make
sure that they have a concept on what the "new park"
should be like AFTER the 700 million is spent. Then start
    the construction.

Unfortunately, they have already started construction on an
additional attraction in Paradise Pier. The Paradise Pier area
is arguably the poorest choice for a Disney themed area, and
the area that is the prime example of what is entirely wrong
with DCA: Built on the Cheap, using an amusement park as
a theme for an amusement park leaves little to be imagined,
and with Screamin' being the 1st impression of DCA doesn't
create nearly the same type of fantasy that the Matterhorn does
    for Disneyland.

In fact, Screamin' makes DCA look just like any
other coaster park, and very similar to seeing the Coaster from
just outside of Knotts, or Magic Moutain. Why in the world
would Disney want to make their new park in Anaheim look just
like everyone else's coaster park? The whole Paradise Pier area
IS the problem~ They've been constantly fixing the Hollywood
backlot area since DCA opened, GRR and Condor Flats area was
really the best themed area of DCA since opening day, BUT,
with Paradise Pier, it's the problem of "THE PROBLEM". Unfortunately,
They STILL haven't realized this! And Screamin' is just in a bad place,
it prevents any decent kind of expansion for DCA.

Well, since your only given three choices, I going to just say #24. DCA needs alot of work. Im encourged by the planned improvements they have been talking about. That is a beginning. I just hope that the creative imnprovements keep comming.

No no, sorry, I meant that as a joke about you saying your report was long-winded. Sorry. I used to work with a lot of attorneys, and boy, could they talk extensively about their opinion on anything... but I'm sure you're not that way.
