December Park Schedule, now up !!!

They've got the December Schedule now online:

And, the Electrical Parade is back ...everday starting December 15, including December 31.

Don't know what happens after December 31, though.

And that's all assuming good weather. Rain, especially, isn't great for that parade.

Some other things I observed: Christmas Eve...the first Fantasy Parade starts at 3:30.....and the next Fantasy Parade starts at 5:30....not much of intermission between the two!

The Fireworks on Christmas Eve are at 7:30 pm.....why not 8:30?...the park closes at 9:00 pm , on that day.

New Years Eve: The Christmas Fantasy Parade is moved up to the first one at 3:15, then the second at 5:45. Not sure why they'd need to do that. Maybe it's to make room for all their other special NYE entertainment ....which isn't listed, of course, as yet.

.....assuming none of this is cancelled due to rain!

Cool!! To bad I will be there before the Bobsleds are open again and before the Electrical Parade.....

But its ok! I'll be hanging out with some cool friends and having a great time anyway!!

The park has normally closed at 8 on Christmas Eve, so will be interesting to see if it stays at 9m.

I am SO excited that this is finally up! Now we can be sure that my husband will FINALLY get to see Fantasmic and that we'll all get to see Believe...in Holiday Magic!

Disneyland usually tries to be nice to their cast members on Christmas Eve, by letting them go home a little bit earlier... to spend time with their friends and family.
Earlier parade = performers, show support, entertainment costuming, parade maintenance CMs get to go home earlier.
Earlier fireworks = pyro, pyro cleanup, and guest control get to go home earlier. Guests also leave the park earlier, as they don't have to stay as late to watch the fireworks. And this allows guests more time for last-minute shopping before the park closes. Thus it helps clear out the park quicker.

The 2 days that this happens in early December due to the CM parties, the sun sets around 5 PM (remember we switch back to Standard time in a couple of weeks). No problems, works just fine.

As for Disneyland.com.... it is currently saying that the Haunted Mansion is closed for removal of the overlay... and that the Orange Stinger is located in Disneyland.....

I thought I'd go in early December this year, but according to the schedule early December is a bad time to go:

(a) Haunted Mansion is closed until 12/16 (?!)

(b) DL closes at 8 p.m. on weeknights until mid-December

So the choice is to go in early December and miss the crowds but also miss HM Holiday and not be able to straggle out of the park at 1 in the morning, or deal with the crowds later in the month, but get all the good stuff. Hmph.

The Haunted Mansion listing is an ERROR, it is open thru January 7th offering the Holiday version. It will close January 8th thru the 18th to remove the overlay......

As for 8 PM closings, that is the normal off-season closing for weekdays. Benefit, less crowds.... Just get there early in the day and enjoy.....

Do they always take HMH down in the beginning of December? Seems like it could make it thru Christmas with that up. .

No.. it is an ERROR...

Haunted Mansion closes for most of September for the installation of the overlay.

Then closes in January for removal.

They want it up for the peak season as the Holiday version....

Thanks for clearing up the Haunted Mansion error. That makes me feel better.

As for 8 p.m., that is 3 hours after sunset so it would probably feel pretty late. But it's still 4 hours less time at DL! Does the smaller crowd on those days really result in such shorter lines and such easier navigation from land to land that I won't miss those 4 hours?! I suppose it must.
