I had a blast at MHT, and put together a little video to share. This night was memorable because it was my first time at MHT and DCA. I highly recommend going if you can. Enjoy ... and excuse the fuzziness of some of the video!
Thanks for sharing your video! I have a trick for overcome drifting focus, which is especially a problem when you're shooting moving things in low light. First, I zoom in on something in the distance and let the autofocus come into focus on it. Then, I switch the focus over to manual focus. When you zoom back out, your camcorder lens should stay in focus. And, it should also still stay in focus when you zoom in on things. I actually shoot this way day or night so drifting focus doesn't mess up my shots. You just have to train yourself to check periodically to make sure the camera is still in focus, as it might get changed from the lens getting bumped or from putting the camera into a camera bag. But, you'll likely notice in the viewfinder or view screen if the focus changes.
Good morning, son
In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
It was pain
Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...
