something I noticed in the HM

I went to disneyland on the 21st (crowds were terrible ) and while i was riding the haunted mansion i noticed something ive never seen before, in the ballroom scene if you look in the very first window to the right youll see the hitchhiking ghosts standing on a hill off in the distance. im not sure if this was always there or if its just for nmbc but i thought it was a cute little touch!

It's there on purpose. It isn't exactly where they would be if you could look stright through the wall (they're really off to the left a bit), but it's what would be "outside" those windows... the graveyard and the hitchhikers.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. Cool. I never know whether those "Disneyland secrets" sites are a blessing or a curse. There is lots of stuff to notice on the rides, and lots to appreciate, but sometimes it can be distracting.

(By the way, the crowds could have been worse on Saturday - I wanted to go with a friend who was in town, but he ended up leaving on Friday.)

Great, something new to look for. Like there aren't enough details to look for. (haha)

In the original version of the NBC makeover at the end of the ride, where the hitchhiking ghosts normally are placed, they had Lock Shock and Barrel. In the background was a cutout of a hill, with the three Hitchhiking Ghosts on top. When they placed Oogie Boogie in that area, the set was too big and you couldn't see the background, so they have just moved the three ghosts that were there to the ballroom. Always have a tribute to something removed, if only temporarily. I think it's a neat idea and will look for them as well. I missed that the last time I rode a couple of weeks ago.

Pshah. It's the details that set DL apart and make attractions like HM worth seeing again and again!

Amen! I meant to say that looking for specific details other people have written about can be distracting compared to just riding along and taking it all in while discovering things for yourself.
