It's my happy place, where I don't have to worry about anything, and it continues to inspire me.

    It's my perfect vacation.

Glad you knocked some sense into him

Why do I enjoy Disneyland so much? Hmm . . .

Well, I'd say because one of the greatest accomplishments humanity ever made was the triumph of turning all our greatest dreams, hopes, and fantasies into reality using scientific innovation, break-through technology, and just a little bit of imagination. Disneyland is a place where almost every night of the past Summer, the whole sky would rain down what appeared to be Pixie Dust; where children and adults can see living representations of their personal heros or heroines (I cry every time I see Pocahontas walking around); and where you can meet thousands of people from all over the world whom you would never have met if not for such a place that unites all different kinds of people drawn to one land of fantasy. In short, Disneyland is one of the greatest places to be on the entire planet; it's one of humanity's finest accomplishments; and I'm proud I have the rare treasure of spending as much time as I do there.

That's an extended form of what I usually tell people who just don't seem to get it at first.

Re: "Its a dumb place, a place that was man-made..."

Disneyland is my escape from my schoolwork and grades, my parents, my coaches, teachers, anything else that stresses me out. I have learned to put everything behind me and say "its happened, theres nothing you can do about it" and just forget it all. And if i don't do that than i can't enjoy life for what it is.

What makes me happy? I'm happy when I go to disneyland with my friends and ride all the rides 5 times. I'm happy when you drag your tired body onto some benches and enjoy the sweet taste of churros melting on your tongue as you listen to people scream as their bobsleds weave in and out of a snowy matterhorn. Listening to the sounds of an early 20th century town as shops busily entertain customers on Main Street, that makes me happy. Darting past rocks and caves on a runaway train through dangerous mines and canyons, that makes me happy. Dodging cannonballs from perilious pirates and zooming through the unknown confines of outer space, all of that makes me happy also. Saying hi to Brer Rabbit and his briar patch friends, boating through wild and untamed jungles, and staring up at the tall spires of a wonderful castle, nothing makes me more happy than that. Disneyland makes me happy.

I wrote that in english class for a writing contest and won. The assignment was "what makes you happy?".

What you say is profound. It's special to us because it's where wife and dated prior to marriage. It's something she and I to do together and if you and your 'other' can find something you like to do together, that's the best thing in the world.

People ask me why I like Disneyland, and I say:

Because its way better than school.

    > People ask me why I like Disneyland better than Walt Disney World, and I say:

Because Walt actually played in Disneyland. He passed away before Walt Disney World was finished.

I've been to many places in my lifetime and nothing even comes close to the magic I feel when I am at Disneyland. Money has been tight so I wasn't able to renew my AP and to tell you the truth, it's been pretty depressing for the past few weeks. When times are rough and nothing in the world seems right, a trip to Disneyland takes me away from the trials of everyday life. It's the only place where I can feel like a kid again. Disneyland wasn't just man made, it was conceived by the greatest human being to have ever walked this earth, our friend Walt Disney.
