    me likey

However, I think that there should be two name lines--first is for real name, second(smaller) line is for username.

I like Dr. Niles Crane's Badge C. Very nice.

As long as the badges are going to handed out beginning at the Saturday July 16th Meet, I can be the MiceChat staff person who hands out badges.

When we decide on a graphic, I can also print out name badges on labels for people who would prefer not to spend the money on a pin badge, or for people who randomly show up at one of the MC meets.
Anything listed on the park maps as an attraction is fair game for inclusion in the Rally.
I cannot confirm nor deny the inclusion of any attraction in the Rally.

I say we keep accepting artwork until mid-day tomorrow- then we'll start a poll to decide on which one to use. What do you guys think?

Let's give it some time, maybe until Tuesday, that way, more people have a chance to design a badge.

    How about Tuesday at noon?

    I agree with you, except...

This way, I don't have to collect names and money, order the badges, receive the badges, and then mail them all off to you.
The company said that if I get the artwork to them by Monday, they can get the setup done within a day and start taking orders by Tuesday. They said they could take orders as late as July 1st and still get them to you in time to wear to the 50th!
The badges cost around $8.50, but the UPS shipping from the company to you is around $8.33(these are appproximations, she is going to e-mail me hard numbers after she gets the artwotrk). I know it's kinda pricey, especially the shipping, and I questioned the shipping cost. The rep told me that it was a fixed price from their plant in Utah.
I think this is the easiest way to get a sharp badge that you can wear to any Micechat function in the future.
Give this some thought, and please respond. Thanks
I have to go back to work, I'll check with you guys later.
Will it be okay if the artwork gets in a little later than Monday? if so Tuesday sounds fine.

Wow! That white font really stands out on the blue background. Very nice. Wonder if the name on the gold badge (Badge "C") would stand out better if it was black instead of white lettering (name and chat name only)? Love the Disneyland 50th and the date with the gold dusting in back. Classy. Just a thought...

Badge Ca? (Might help us mass prodce the badge by printing all the detail then engraving the specific names)

ARRGGHH... this sure got complicated fast, as anyone who's ever dealt with more than one "chief" on a design project could have easily guessed.

    Several points:
1- LESS is more! While all the graphics look really great in and of themselves, C33's design is easiest to read and says all it needs to say. While I love the good Dr. Crane's deco font, it has to be easy to read at a glance.

2- While its a great idea to have name badges, and I thought about that myself at the last two meets, if they are too much money I'd rather spend it on nifty 50th souveneirs at the park. I'm going to Home Depot tomorrow to check out SomeSayImGoofy's paint chip idea. I also like the idea of some simple template that we could print out ourselves, allowing us to personalize with our avatar's if we like. Could someone whip up a "form" and allow us to download it? Again, "LESS is more".

    3- I'm NOT learning a secret handshake!

We all have our opinions, and I'm fine with that. The thing is if I'm going to shell out for a name badge, I want it to be a keepsake that will remind me of the event for a long time, especialy If there is no way now that I'm going to be able to get there.

You can't make it to the 50th on the 17th yourself?? Ouch... thats too bad.

I'm buying one of the gold name badges at the park this Sunday. I'm figuring that is my keepsake souvenier badge. Niles, if you can't make it I'll be happy to pick one up for you and have your name put on it. They really are terrific looking.

The micechat badge is just a very cool bonus, and serves to help us (and anyone else with my horrid memory for names) recognize each other.

(And yeah, I've got a background in graphics and design).

Dont worry, I'll be there in January 2006 (I live in Sydney, Australia. Money is not the problem, it's getting the time to make a trip to the US) to pick up a pear of Mouse Ears and a Name Badge. The point I'm trying to get across is that it's THE birthday, and youre there with all your MiceChat friends, dont you want want to saour the moment when you were actualy crazy enougth to meet up with a group of people you only know through the internet?

Anyway, it doesn't matter. In the end we will let everybody submit a design if they want then vote for it. It's better to have a quality badge that everybody likes that will last for a long time rather than a crappy one that you toss as soon as you get home.
