I'm buying one of the gold name badges at the park this Sunday. I'm figuring that is my keepsake souvenier badge. Niles, if you can't make it I'll be happy to pick one up for you and have your name put on it. They really are terrific looking.

The micechat badge is just a very cool bonus, and serves to help us (and anyone else with my horrid memory for names) recognize each other.

(And yeah, I've got a background in graphics and design).

Yeah but they won't put your micechat name on it (humph) grrrrrr (still, honest, I'm not bitter)

As for the design. I'm thinking simple is better. No Disneyland logo's That will only get us into trouble!!! I vote for the mice chat or the dark blue/black one that was designed.

The 50th badges can be worn for the next 18 months and I think they are very cool looking. If we want to do more "generic" tags later, we can have buttons made as well (which is easy and cheap).

I tried to buy a gold souvenir nametag at Disneyland last week, and I was told that they couldn't imprint my name because it contains a space. Sadness. Does anyone know if they really can't do spaces on the machine or if the cast member just didn't want to print my name because with the space my real name sounds a bit like a nickname a person would have?

I'd definitely buy one.

Just out of curiosity, is this a fully sanctioned MiceChat product? If not, do we have permission to use the MiceChat logo?

Not even close to some of the stuff you do.

And to answer your question, the logo text is from a font, which is available for free online. Cirarama did get permssion from Dusty to use the MiceChat logo on the badges.

Count me in on whatever you guys come up with. I will be at Disneyland on the 16th through the 19th. Where is the meet on the 16th? I didn't even know about one. My Godson will be with me that day for his first trip to Disneyland (he's 14 now) and we can stop by.

Looks like they do some nice work Circarama... good job finding them so quickly. I think regardless of the badge (but I do lean towards a special 50th design of some type - but majority rules

) it will be great to have a meet and have a badge to identify one another throughout that weekend... and beyond.

I personally would like to wear a lanyard for the sole reason that I dont want to have to un pin and re pin on a bage when I put of a sweater... I think that having a free form that we each could print out would be nice as well as far as a landyard goes... I really like Lanyard C... I think that would be very nice in ona lanyard,,, however I do also want a badge... even though I wont be there on the 17th...

Definitely badge 'A'!

Badge 'B' has a Mickey Mouse silhouette and the Disneyland name on it. The Mickey may not be legal since the world associates the image with Disney. Even if the image isn't copyrighted/trademarked, it does give Disney the means of filing a lawsuit. The Disneyland name is a registered trademark of Disney—at least it is if you use that font. The word 'Disneyland' (even if in another font) may be trademarked as well, just like 'audio-animatronic'. Of course, this is if you're concerned at all about getting on Disney's bad side.

I say stick with badge 'A'. It's safe . . . and looks good.
