    The Dinosaurs of Disneyland

I love paleontology and through Cal Tech, I've had a chance to meet some of the the big names in the field. I have noticed some of my favorite fossils from the dinosaur world in the Disneyland Resort, and thought I'd review them in pictures -- enjoy!

Both a mammoth and a sabertooth tiger in the same fossil field! Hmm...

Is this a dinosaur? No, it's actually Pete's Dragon, but somehow it fits here!

Say hi to John Hammond for me and tell him that it's 1955, not 1956.

Thanks, Froggy. (If I may call you Froggy)

The whole Primeval World thing often gets overlooked in the Pantheon of Disneyland attractions, and it is one of my favourite bits of the Railroad.

There was a time when I was younger where I wished they did full scale animatronic scenes from Walt Disney's Fantasia for the railroad. The dinosaurs in the primeval world reminds me of The Rite of Spring.

    Re: The Dinosaurs of Disneyland

I wish that they had incorporated the whimsical cave men from the World's Fair attraction into the diarama. I think it would have made it more entertaining. Does anyone know if those cave men exist somewhere at Imagineering or have been completely scrapped???

I love this thread Frogberto! My husband is also very into paleontology, he always shakes his head at some of the so-called dinosaurs in Primeval World. I always have to remind him we are at Disneyland, and then he reminds me that people are getting bad information etc...

Do you think the Mammoth and Saber tooth tiger are the ones from Ice Age, and that's why they are together? Hee , hee, hee...

Thanks! Don't get me started about the totally anatomically incorrect T-Rex that they have in that diorama - Disney, that thing needs to be fixed/updated like now!

This image of your cat, fully dressed, requesting a photo shoot (in an English accent mind you) just really got to me. Cool thread, Froggy! I could have sworn this thread was going to be about older/obsolete attractions before I opened it...
