    Smile Space Mountain Holiday

    Howdy everybody,

I was at work earlier this morning and came up with a minor idea as to how the holiday season could be incorporated into the ride Space Mountain.

I was thinking for just the month of December the meteor/asteroid projection could be changed into Santa in his sleigh with his reindeer flying across the cosmos. Also, change the lighting to Space Mountain to green and add some futuristic looking ornaments to the roof to make it look like a Christmas tree.

    What do you guys think?

Santa would die in space due to the lack of oxygen. Unless of course he wore a fishbowl on his head...same with the reigndeer. And Darth Vader would nuke the ornaments with his imperial starship.

I know you're kidding, but seriously, he's a guy who can squeeze down a chimny and fly in a sleigh in the sky with flying reindeer. I highly doubt there would be any issue with believing he'd be fine up in space.

That was a funny visual about Darth nukin' the ornaments though. LOL

I was just messing around. But seriously Santa would need some sort of moonsuite to breathe in space. Unless he can hold his breath for 10 minutes like Guybrush Threepwood.
    Otherwise he'd still die

Altho I can appreciate the idea, I'm not sure I'd be too keen on the whole Santa thing in space. I like looking at SM just as it is and experiencing the attraction as is too!

I know you were messing around. I thought it was pretty funny, actually.

However, the whole thought of Santa dying in space because he can't breathe is a bit off in my opinion. Santa is not like you and me, he is a magical entity. If we're talking about reality here tell me how many times have you seen reindeer flying in the sky? How many times have you seen a person squeeze down a narrow chiminy at night to leave presents and not have been some nice burgler. All I'm saying is that Santa is magical, therefore anything is possible.

Although, there could always be different versions played with. It would be kind of funny to see Santa wearing a space outfit, maybe with a Mickey Mouse type helmet. I guess it would just depend on how the graphic was drawn/created.

Santa in a space suit on a rocket propelled sled replacing the meteor would be funny. Red and green lights all over, presents replacing some of the stars. And some "rockin'" Christmas music.

Sounds like a good idea to me

Although the idea is fresh, I personally don't think that I would like it. I like space mountain the way it is. I (ALMOST) don't even like the HMH, but that is just me.
