This alone piques me to buy the new official album.

...

Alone, as in, it's the only reason I would buy the new official album.

I think it's hilarious the 'modified' R...DCT is actually being released. What a laugh. All that was done was a simple cut and paste, "In 1955..." and "Today..." trying to hide the fact that the show is for the 50th and is being extended because it's so popular.

Let me guess - the front cover has a Disney Castle in the clouds.

Re: Disneyland Releases the New Official Album!!!

Where is this Welcome to Tomorrowland song coming from? I have never heard it been played in the Magic Kingdom or Disneyland. The Tomorrowland soundtrack is very similar to it, but what's its purpose?

At least the cd isn't called Disneyland Moments: From the Place Where Dreams Come True.

What was the difference between this and the 50th version? Also when/where can we get this?

Re: Disneyland Releases the New Official Album!!!

Question: is the Space Mountain just music, or with sound effects? I have the just music version of my own.

Re: Disneyland Releases the New Official Album!!!

^ Good question. I haven't a clue, but more likely than not it's without sound effects. For some reason, the Official Albums have shyed away from them, leaving us with the background score - Star Tours and Indiana Jones, most specifically. I suppose it would be 'jarring' to listen to if you don't know the attraction and have no idea what is going on.

You must be talking about the two disc set with the orange cover I just saw at 20th Century Music on Main Street last week . Sad thing (for me at least) is that set relentlessly recycles tracks from the 50th Homecoming 2 Disc set, the Where Magic Lives WDW 2 disc set and the Musical History of Disneyland 6 CD set. I have all three of those already.

Yo Ho, Grim Grinning Ghosts, Walt's dedication, steam train announcment, I think you even get Seasons of the Vine and the Boudin Bakey song again. I'll pick it up next trip because a few things are different but I really felt kind of let down by the lack of new music. Don't get me wrong, it's great set (and Jeff Shridan makes these discs sound FANTASTIC considering the scope of time we're talking about, I'm sure this set will sound excellent too) as long as you don't own either the Musical History or the Happiest Homecoming sets.

What I want are the complete loop sets from the parks. Now there's a boxset Disney could easily get me to pay out hundreds of dollars for, but I want every loop from every park. That'd be killer (yes, I know copy right clerances and such make the idea almost undoable...still, Dreams come true)

Re: Disneyland Releases the New Official Album!!!

If you are an avid collector, the number of repeats will bother you. But you are going to buy it anyways. Here is why:
Space Mountain - Starts at the beginning. The music just after you bang your lap bar and are ready for launch. It includes the music in the tunnel and lift hill with the bonus of the countdown! Then comes the little 1:30 “daytime track”. Finally the slow music as you leave the reentry area.
Welcome to Tomorrowland - This could be a transplant from Epcot but they sometimes have it turned on. Sometimes. All electronic.
The Droid Room - What happens when somebody gets “inspired” by the sounds inside of an attraction. Kind of rifts off the sounds of droids working to an 80’s dance beat.
Honey, I Shrunk the Audience - The theme song you probably never really wanted but are glad to pad out the collection for completeness.
A Bug’s Life Suite - I guess if you stand in the que for an extended period of time you would hear this entire track. Beautiful Randy Newman music even if it is not within the attraction.
Mike and Sully to the Rescue - Clocking in at 7:40, this takes the rather groovy movie soundtrack and pastes it back together in the same sequence as the ride. A good addition.
It’s a Small World Clock Parade - I have one of those clocks with a CD player and this is my new wake up track. The whole clock sequence with chimes.
Not the best value if you have the 50th box set and the last 2-disc set but you are going to buy it so go now and enjoy.
