    Fireworks are LOUD!!!

Just a fun observation, I like in Placentia, about 15 miles from the park, and have always been able to hear the fireworks, but the new show is extraordinarily loud! When I'm in my house, it sounds like someone moving things around outside, sometimes like banging on our wall. I always smile when I hear it, but I know there are people between mee and DL that have to hate it. It must be so loud if you live close!

    Just a pointless observation...

I can hear it in Costa Mesa... oddly enough, it's just as loud here as it is in Garden Grove.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

We were across the street at the Best Western (Ana Inn) on may 4th they kicked us out at 5 on the the sneek peek day, but Celebs and Media got a preview of the Fireworks show, and we sort of did, across the street. We were in the room, T.V. On, and I thought, "Oh Great who is outside banging on something at this hour (Close to 10p.m.) Went outside to a very nice Surprise!

but yes, It is a very loud display!

I live by the 5 Freeway on Orangewood -- so pretty close -- I hear the fireworks but they're not SOOO loud that I'm going crazy or anything. If I turn on the TV and close the windows, I hardly hear the bangs outside. But I have to agree that the blue STAR fireworks in the beginning are pretty loud.

I live in Costa Mesa and once I hear the very deep bass explosion sound I know its about 9:30pm or 8:45 on weekdays. Hahahaha Everytime I hear it I wish i was right in front of the castle again. Its not loud at all its like a car driving by with loud bass speakers rumbling by. But were like 15 mins away... I woudl thin if you lived by DL you should be used to fireworks by now..

The fireworks are VERY loud. We watched them from the Parking Structure on Saturday night, and they were setting off all of the car alarms. It was actually pretty funny.

LOL! I never even thought of that! I bet auto theft in neighborhoods around the park is way high, because people either turn off their alarms, or ignore them by now! No I have to take a day and hang out in the structure during the show, to laugh at all the alarms going off!

Have listened to them all my life, only 3 miles from the Park down Katella Ave. Doesn't seem any louder to me....but them I'm getting older and you know what happens to your hearing after 40!

I dunno... I live in south Santa Ana, and I hear nothing. In fact, I can't think of one time in my life I was at home and could hear any fireworks (even when I lived in Garden grove!).

I was leaving a Martial Arts demonstration on Broadway in Anaheim, and I could see and hear the ending fireworks. It's weird - from that distance, you see the finale fireworks, THEN you hear 10 seconds of cannon fire. It's almost like they're not attached at all!

Hey, when Disneyland opened, it was surrounded by Orange groves. We all moved here knowing that there was a theme park, and that that theme park had fireworks. That's my stance.

Also, there are times when sounds can be better heard at a distance than up close. Strange but true. They're not so terribly loud (except the crackly ones) inside the park, but the bass waves travel so far that in costa mesa it sounds like someone's banging on a wall.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

    Speaking of loud,

We checked in last Saturday night at the Tropicana after driving from Fairfield at 2:00am, then spending the day at Huntington Beach since our first day at the park wasn't till Sunday. We were all sound asleep, and suddenly the loud booming started, and shook the walls of our room! I thought we were being attacked with machine guns, it took a couple of seconds to figure out what was going on. On the news they were talking about those freeway shootings, so we had gone to sleep after hearing that story! We all got dressed, and ran outside when we figured out what they were, and were amazed at the cube effects, and all the neat pyro effects.
