11/27 Photo update: Rain, Candlelight Set Up, and Street Car questions

I've been waiting since...um....last Spring to go to the park in the rain, and FINALLY it rained this morning! So...I headed to the park, grabbed a peppermint mocha from the Blue Ribbon, and took a few shots before heading to work.

First of all, it looks like they are just about ready for Candlelight this weekend.

More shots of the park in the rain...

The rain seemed to help keep the crowds away today....

At 11:00 am, Toon Town had yet to open...

Even in the rain, a line is already forming for the Princess Fantasy Faire

As for my street car question, is this the only way to get the street cars back stage? They have to reharness the horse each time?

    Hello! You can stop now!!

Anyone know about the streetcar thing?

By 11:00 am I had to head off to work, and the rain had ended. But I'm looking forward to Candlelight this Sunday night!

Well, yeah, they have to reharness the horse to change directions. The trolleys are pretty firmly attached to those tracks, they can't just turn around.

I love the park in the rain! The gray clouds really make all the colors so much more vibrant. Great update. Thanks.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

Great pictures! I guess the horses can't push the trolleys with their behinds ... LOL

I always figured they had a "y" coming out from back stage so that they could go in either direction. If they have one coming back towards the Emporium, I don't see why they couldn't have one coming back up Mainstreet as you get to the turn. I guess you would need some kind of a switch for that though.

Funny. I've been going to Disneyland for...um...about 40 years and this is the first time I've seen them reharnessing the horses to change direction.
Ya learn something new every day.

Yeah, it's quite something to watch. But occasionally the horse is acting up. I feel like applauding the CM who can get it back all right.
SO the streetcarts just chill there at night?

I *love* the park in the rain!!! I almost hope it rains Sunday when I go and then stops in time for me to wait for the Candlelight.
