At 3:52 the signs will go up and the park will be full.

OF course, this is just a gut feeling.

Re: Crowds on sunday the 3rd?

I know last year we were inside early to reserve a spot. My mom and kids showed up about an hour before the 5:30 performance. They didnt' have a problem and that was with Dick Van Dyke narratoring. Hopefully it should be ok.

Hate to say it but you probably will. Most people come in and don't know it's Candlelight and wonder, "why is it so busy today?"

Thank God it's only two days, as cool as it is.

Bye.

We will be there too!!! I bet it is really crowded, but I don't know if it will reach capacity!! I hope not because my parents are flying in that day and joining us and they have tickets for Candlelight. Does anyone know what happens if they shut the gates. Would they still get in since they bought seats for the show?

Re: Crowds on sunday the 3rd?

Candlelight performance days are some of the most crowded of the year. We finally ended up going over to Coco's to grab something to eat after the performance a few years ago due to the food lines throughout the park. The participants of the ceremony are allowed back in to the park for the evening, and most of them are famished after the second performance. Add to that the number of friends and family and people who just come to watch it every year AND the fact that it's the first weekend in December and it spikes the numbers up quite a bit. They could very easily stop admitting guests by 3 or so.

Does anyone remember the park hitting capacity LAST year for Candlelight?

If you're holding a ticket, you have a seat reserved for you. But if you bring others with you without tickets, they might be out of luck.

Wow.. I just extend a GOOD LUCK to everyone brave enough to go to Disneyland during Candlelight Days. heh. If you do go, go early and plan to stay inside the park for the rest of the day. DON'T DARE to go south of the Partners Statue! You'll never make it out alive!

it did not. and to the OP, rope "corridors" wil be in place for Guests entering and exiting both prior and during the Ceremony. Guest traffic entering will be on the east side of Main Street and the west side used for exiting the Park.

note: do not plan on using the benches just outside of City Hall restrooms... just before the performance begins, Cast Members will clear this area.

Re: Crowds on sunday the 3rd?

So it looks like I'm going this sunday, and now I find this out. I bought my friend a hopper awhile back and she's gonna use it sunday. I'm afraid though that we hop over to DCA and then we can't get back in disneyland.

When they close the gates do they just stop selling tickets, or do they litteraly not let anyone else to enter the park, including those with tickets or APs?

Re: Crowds on sunday the 3rd?

once you're scanned in,you're in for the day.they block ticket booth sales and new ap entries at DL gate.I heard ap's can scan in at DCA first then enter DL.make sure you get your hand stamped.Even ap's need stamps on full days.

Re: Crowds on sunday the 3rd?

Okay, so you're saying that as long as me and my friends get our hand stamps, that we'll be able to hop between both parks all day, even if they close the gates?

We'll be there before 8am, so we shouldn't have a problem then.
