Wow - I almost got 'choked up'. Good times! All the action in Tomorrowland.......good times. Hopefully good times will be resurrected.

    Thanks for this!

Sometimes change is not for the better.

Just look how vibrant TL is in that movie.

Now it is just a shadow of it's glorious self.

This has been a Filmways presentation dahling.

    Thanks for posting that...

I also teared up a bit when I viewed it. I've forgotten the unique view it
gave to the inside of the Matterhorn and the overview over FL.

TL does look pretty lively compared to what we have now, but that I
    knew from the ground.

Lilyella: the reason that I've heard that all the skyways (also in WDW MK) got taken away
was that WDC was worried about people falling off of it and the subsequent lawsuit.

So nostalgic. I had also forgotten how much I loved the Skyway. Druggas is right - not all change is for the better.
    She did it!

Incredible. So lively. I miss the kinetic landscape that was the pre 90s park. Ah, the sounds. And that 'whoosh' as the skyway car slid onto the cable.

    Speechless.

I think this sentiment is mostly born out of nostalgia. I too have fond memories of the Skyway and the PeopleMover, but it would be hard for me to make the case that the Tomorrowland represented in those videos is better than the Tomorrowland we have now. I think it's kind of ironic that in both those skyway videos - the PeopleMover cars are shown a) running empty and b) not running at all.

And one of the things I absolutely hated about Tomorrowland of the past were the really crummy garage bands that would play at Tomorrowland Terrace. Usually it was always the type of band that would play louder to compensate for the fact that they couldn't play all that well. That loud music would be audible as soon as you came out of the Matterhorn and the closer I got - the more my ears would ring.

And overall I see a land that is white and sterile. The white paint would always betray the fact that the air in Southern California is very dirty. The exposed metals and steel mesh just looks bad now compared to how it looked in 1960.

The whole area just looked dated and old. I much prefer the look of the 1998 Tomorrowland over the previous version (and I think the current version is a good compromise). It's much more inviting, and interesting. The brick pavers are a million times better than the solid color slurry coat everywhere. I also think it's ironic in a sense that so many people complained about the use of the color brown in the 1998 Tomorrowland Paint Scheme - while now in the future, every strip mall, shopping center, and new construction is being painted some form of brown.

The future is now I guess...

    >>I think this sentiment is mostly born out of nostalgia.<<

Talk about a Liver complaint! How can cool rides that work and take you to other levels of the Magic Kingdom be - in any way - inferior to non-functioning ruins and skeletons?

Let's hear from the kids out there who never experienced the classic Tomorrowland... doesn't the video look enticing? Wouldn't you want to do that?

Then you should hang out at the Glendale Galleria! EW...

Give me ultramodern white, gleaming, utopian spires over catpoo anyday!

Skyway looked like so much fun!

I watched the People Mover Track and it does need to come back in one for or another!
