How about replacing the parking lot trams with the Peoplemover?

It would be elevated and constantly moving. In order to travel faster on the main track it could divert to multiple loading platforms at each station. There are more than a few questions to be answered with regard to this idea, but it could potentially work. I'm not sure if it would cut down on line time or make the lines longer if the Peoplemover loads fewer people at a time and travels slower than the trams though, but this can be fixed by altering the Peoplemover to make it much bigger. And I'm sure this has been brought up before... And also, this would fulfill the Peoplemover's ultimate purpose: to be used for real transportation in the future.

    What do you think?

Eh...What about people jumping off or something?

    Will there be supervision?

Do people jump off the trams? Yes, there will be supervision; guests are stupid, afterall.

They could use the cable-driven OTIS created tram system that The Getty Center has instead. They are air-conditioned fully enclosed tram cars, and require no driver or user intervention (short of a "Door Hold" button if a person needs extra time to load). Plus, with the traffic pattern, you could set it up so there's always a tram loading.

Trams are rediculously high capacity, carrying vast amounts of guests to and from the structure. Other systems would need to be as efficient, which is incredibly hard to do.
Remember, Disneyland's monorails will not work, as their scale limits the amount of people they can carry (vs WDW).
Tramzillas are still the best system.

LOL...I love the comment, and you're right, guests can be pretty stupid.

But I love the idea of a PeopleMover type tram to replace the trams we have now! To have something that would constantly be going to take guests to and from the main gate of the Disneyland Resort would be terrific!

    Kinda like.... the trams?
I don't get it. They are at work constantly from 1 hour before the park opens to 1 hour after it closes. They also transport more guests than any individual ride in either of the parks on a daily basis (necessity, yes).
    They are constantly moving.
So they may not be the most quiet things, but they can carry a LOT on one trip.

I certainly sounds like a neat idea, but I wouldn't they run into problems with wheel chair and stroller access?

I've had to wait many of times for a tram to get to the parking structure, anywhere between 10 to 20 mins. To me, that's not constantly moving. However, if they had a PeopleMover type tram that was constantly moving, guests would never have to wait at all, but just hop on board as soon as they got to the loading platform.

Another benefit of the trams, if one breaks down, then the trams will continue, just going past the one broken down.

If one vehicle breaks down on the Monorail/People Mover tracks, then the entire system comes to a halt until the vehicle can be removed for the tracks.

Exactly. Then you would have to stop or slow down to accomodate them. I think the trams are fine the way they are, as it is you don't have to wait long to get on one and be on your way to DLR.
