Clearly you've seen the show and have been enamored with it. While that's nice, I really can't support your idea.

Yes, it will definitely be too much Nemo! For crying out loud, DCA has Crush...then we'll have the Subs (I do feel that the Subs will still fit TL as I've stated in other threads, but I won't go into that here).

Instead of a short-term fix, we need a much more long-term one. Shows just won't work in that area. There's not enough storylines that could be justified to be shown in TL.

We need a solid attraction in the area that can stick around for a long time. I've mentioned my idea a few times in the past...I think a movie hosted by AA's (mainly Tom Morrow) could show us the advancements Disney has made through Imagineering. For example, clips would be shown of how the Pirates of the Caribbean came to be, making such elaborate lifelike AA's for the first time in a huge attraction (then Tom might talk to an AA pirate on his thoughts, providing quite a bit of humor). This attraction would have a repeatability factor in that at the end of the clip, it would be updated every now and then to show a "coming soon" clip of new advancements for a new ride coming to the resorts. AP's who frequent the resort so much will eat it up because they love this kind of information, and it will just be outright interesting to anyone else.
Great show idea. Let's put THAT in a newly refurbished and restored to it's original self Carousel Theater. First section A grand tour of Yesterland. A loving look at the Disneyland we all used to know and all those things that we loved that are gone now. Next section Great Moments With Mr Lincoln show (whose history with Walt and the park would be covered in the previous section) Next segment a section from the original Carousel of Progress, then a segment of CBJ. Followed by a segment from America Sings (Oh dear we'll have to get the best scene back out of Splash Mountain for that) and then a section dedicated to the future of the park/coming attractions. Bang! Suddenly we have a great show in the Carousel Theater again, we revive a few great songs from shows gone to Yesterland, save Mr. Lincoln too. What's not to love?

I was torn between "Something brand new" and bulldozing the theatre. Ultimately I picked "Something brand new." I've always thought a ride about time travel would be cool to add in that theatre. Maybe something called "Bent Time?"

I see you voted America Sings, loved that show. I'd really love for there to be at least one big Marc Davis AA Musical left in the park or at least if nothing else some original functioning bits of them, not like Splash or HMH (where Big Al is hidding in the OggieBoogie suit). Carousel seems like a natural. And yeah, paying homage to Disneyland's past IS forward thinking. So the Yesterland Museum seems like a good idea in TL IMHO

I would hold on the carousel for now. There's a very good chance that "Meet The Robinsons" could produce a quality Disney ride, and the design/style shown in the trailers fits very well with the mood of the carousel building.

Re: Caurosel Theater: It's time for a change!

    1) Replace 1st floor of Innoventions to that planned Galatic Musical Alien Zoo.

    2) 2nd Floor of Innoventions is a new slow-spinning restaurant. Kitchen built on extention on the side of the building or in the center(??). Called "Above and Beyond"

    3) Replace Redd Rockett's with a new Alien Encounter-style show or darkride. Outdoor patio near SM queue is pre-show/queue themed with the old NASA exhibit that was in Buzz FP(??)

    4) Starcade (1st & 2nd floor) replaced with new smaller best-of version of Innoventions. PM access in 2nd floor. Stage for ASMIO on 1st or 2nd floor.

    5) Replace Grand Canyon with displays of past TL ride vehicles and disney sci-fi movie vehicles. Then a storyline of a time machine from Innoventions zapped the trains into a temporary leisure trip to Primeval World. (Covering the Time Travel portion of Sci-Fi)

I would have said America Sings because I loved that show, but it would have to be a bit updated if it came back. But honestly, a brand new AA show with music would be awesome. The only time I go into Innoventions is when I want to visit with friends of mine that work there. Otherwise, it's pointless!

Filmfreak11 echos some of my own ideas... but I usually turn the Starcade into the Space Mountain queue... that roof of HISTA isn't working anymore.

Hmm... like what? I was thinking of moving the X-wing from the ceiling of Starcade and keeping it on the Space Mountain landing pad on top of HISTA. It'd make a nice pic and something to look at.

Re: Caurosel Theater: It's time for a change!

I voted something new. I don't have any thoughts on what it SHOULD be but I'd love to see what concepts the Imagineers have on hold.

I do like the idea that whatever is in the building evolves and changes... having one place in Tomorrowland with exibits of further explorations of space even... I always loved stuff like that. The main reason I don't go into Innoventions right now is because I don't want to wait for whatever pre-show they have. I just want to GO INSIDE already.

Red Rockets occupies some prime real estate... maybe move that dining into the upper area or Innoventions... or even add an additional rotating floor on top of it with prime seating offering the best views of tomorrowland in the park (especially during fireworks time). Imagine Tomorrowland's first dining facility that requires reservations.

That gives the entire lower area near Space Mountain more space to do something REALLY amazing.

^ Exactly my point for the rotating sit-down restaurant. Get some nice views of fireworks with music pumping in. And also a nice view of a new Tomorrowland laser, fog, lighting, music, and laser animation show centered on Space Mountain. Using Observatron as part of the show.
