Gift Card: Use it for an AP renewal or for souvenirs?

Hi everyone. I am wondering if you can help me out here with a dilemma I am facing. I went to my company Holiday party and won a $100 Disney gift certificate! Way cool!

Now here is my problem. I originally thought that I was going to use it on my 8 year old son for whenever we went to the park for souvenirs. However I went on the website and found out that I can use it to renew my AP which is up for renewal this month.

Souvenirs are expensive, and when we go I hate to say no if he wants something, because Disneyland is a special trip for the two of us. However, getting $100 off of an AP would be very helpful for me, obviously.

What should I do? Any suggestions???

i would hate to see that card come between you and your kid so I have a solution...ill take it off your hands and then you can live guilt free.


If you feel guilt for renewing your pass then do what brings you the least amount of guilt.

Go with the shtuff for the kiddo. You're going to get an AP no matter what, right?

I would use the money towards the AP.

You can always go to the Character Warehouse and use cash to buy souvenirs, and they are MUCH less than at the park

I'd use it for the AP. In the long run, the AP will do you more good than souvenirs.

Consider it a good thing, not a problem.

Either way, it's spending a hundred bucks.

Whether you spend it on gifts or AP's, it's spent. Out of the right pocket or the left... Makes no difference. In the end, it is still spent.

I'd spend it on whatever I bought NEXT.

If it's time to renew the AP, then spend it on that so you can get into the Park to enjoy it with your son. If, on the other hand, you hit the World of Disney on your way into the Park, and he wants a gift, spend it there.

See, it really doesn't matter which way you choose. Either way, it is SPENT.

I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about this "problem"...

Renew the AP.

Use it on your AP. Then use your discount to buy souvenirs or go to the character warehouse (way cheaper!)

i agree, you won it use it towards the ap. you can go as much as you want then and if you don't have the money you don't have to buy soveniers.
