Re: Anybody else think the Mickey Mouse themed room is tacky?

I would love to stay here!!! The childrens room is even equipped with a drawing desk and art supplies for the kids to get creative. This place looks awesome and I hope we win a night when we go in January!

Re: Anybody else think the Mickey Mouse themed room is tacky?

Thanks for the link Insighter! Looking at more pictures and watching the video helped to get a better idea of what the room has to offer. I think the special touches are what make the room, more than the decor. It's not my style, but it would still be a great "dream" to win.

So, do the winners get to keep all the extras in the room? (The slippers, toys, ears, etc.)

the hope of winning a stay there is the other reason to get to the park right at opening for me...my main reasoning is so we can get on Peter Pan before the line is a trillionbillions mins long

Meh, I like the concept art better than the actual product.

A little "too" much Mickey if you ask me. I know it is a MM-themed room but I would personally like to see a few other characters in there as well.

^ Oh totally, the concept art is not nearly as cold or poorly designed. I'm so glad that I read this thread, because when I first saw those pictures and thought the room was below Disney's capability I actually felt kind of guilty! I'm glad I have company! Sure I'd take it if I were eligable to win, but that's pretty typical for a starving college student I think! I wonder why they aren't giving away the far-lovelier pirate room instead?

BTW, sign me up to stay in a Shag room!!!! Can you imagine?

You heard about the "hidden Mickey" who comes out while you're in the shower? Anybody got a trip report about that yet???

Color-changing tiles that react to heat. They're shown in the video clip that you'll find on the page that the link in Post #33 will take you to.

I wonder how times they'll give that room away until adults do what they're prone to do in that bedroom? Or on the couch, or where ever?

"How about after a few drinks, you and I go up to the hotel? I've got the keys to Mickey's bachelor pad."

I also wonder if they've done anything special for the bathrooms, because they aren't showing them.

I agree. THAT would be über-cool.

Have any of you perused the art design part of the extras on the Incredibles DVD? There's a very "modern" looking 2D artist's rendering of what their home should look like and it looks a lot like something he would do.

Always interesting to compare concept art with final product. The art is softer, much gentler on the eyes, especially in this first comparison.

Family liked it and so did I. What's the fuss? It's a YOAMD prize, you're not paying for it. Heck, I'd be happy winning a lanyard.
