I'v been on Winnie the pooh in Critter country at DL when it broke down twice. The second time the cast member allowed us to pose for pictures for the rest of the attraction while we walked through, it was amazing seeing everything up close and how they do the the SFX. It was a cool experience.
It's a Small World...I still have nightmares being stuck in my boat at WDW listening to that song for forty-five mintues. Those happy, foreign dolls, singing and singing...
Once we were at Disneyland, and we were in line for Splash, (with Fastpasses thank HEAVENS!) and it busted. So, we decided to save our FPs, for later when it wasn't busted. (It turned out the whole Adventureland, Frontierland side of the park was broken down! Some computer thing.) But anyway, we came back later at night, and in the part of the ride where Brer Fox has got Brer Bear all tied up in the trap and he's like, "We're gonna git that Brer Rabbit!", he had been knocked down! He looked like he got drunk or something. A once in a lifetime experience...
I got stuck and was walked off of Splash Mountain the summer of 2003. I've got some pictures somwhere around here. If I can find them I'll post them in a few days.

My dad claims he was stuck in the jail scene of POTC for FOUR HOURS when he was little. I don't think he's for real, but I guess 45 minutes or so can seem like 4 hours to a hyperactive little boy...or maybe their evacuation procedures weren't too efficient back then. Anyway, whenever we get even slightly stalled in there he freaks out and goes, "Oh god, it's happening again". I used to do the whistle behind him and he'd tense up. This has got to be at least 30 years ago now, btw.
I may have posted this before, But I was on the Grizzly Rapids ride, with a full boat, We got suck at the top of one of the Waterfalls!! The Technician came 30 minutes later and talked to us like he was working on something then Released us WITHOUT TELLING US!! Boy, that made everyone's heart skip a beat!!

I'm curious how they evacuate POTC. Do they drain the water or anything? I never get to be stuck on rides

Got stuck on Pirates right after it first opened and the first time I ever rode it! We were in the main sacking part, right in front of the pirate trying to get in the boat without losing all the hats stacked on his head (I swear it used to be a taller stack). We thought it was just another part of the show until we realized that it was going on about 45 min, and the CM's came and took us out through one of the doorways in the rock caves. They had a jazz band there to meet us outside and we were given special tickets that were good on any ride (otherwise you were out an E ticket in those days!) My mom refused to ever ride it again, and wouldn't watch "Curse of the Black Pearl" because the sound just drove her nuts.
As boats back up, some stop next to an evacuation platform. There are about 7 or so said platforms. Those stuck next to the platforms are taken off first, and then cast members get into the water with waders and push the remaining boats backwards until they reach the nearest evacuation platform. Guests are walked out of the show building and return to the park near the bathrooms in New Orleans Square.Originally Posted by TStar05

The next time you ride pirates, look for the platforms. All of them are located on the left side of the flume.
I remember when my family and I got stuck on Indy, the car just past the bridge and we got stuck going into the sharp turn towards the giant snake! I remember being stuck on an angle for 10 min until a cast member came around to unload the cars. Since we the last car to pass the bridge we were the first to be unloaded. I noticed that the cars that were on the other side of the bridge were escorted backwards, back towards the loading station. As for us we were lead though the rest of the ride, stopping to load the next car in front of us. We got to see every thing up close, the snake, the skull room, the rat room (watch had nothing but big speakers and the projection for the rat effect), even the boulder room (Indy was still talking). The best part, my brother had the video camera, so we taped the whole experience (I don't know what happed to the tape, I think it is buried with all the other tapes we have) I will never forget that experience!

Ah 101s...I was evacing Snow one morning. A whole family from Australia was in there and they took pictures of everything, even me coming to get them out. "How often do you get to walk through a ride when you aren't working it?" they said. So sweet. 101s, though bad for the guests and department, are kinda fun in some weird way.
I have a friend who works it. He told me that in case of a fire on Indy, the ride auto e-stops, auto powers down, and auto unlocks the seatbelts. A recording prompts everyone to get out of the vehicles on their own and walk to an exit. So pretty much it's everyone for themselves :devil:You can't get out of your seatbelt unless someone from the outside flips a switch on the ride vehicle. I wondered aloud what would be happening if there was a fire emergency
