Screwing up Tomorrow Land Areas
I was over in Yesterday Land's site and seeing the bustling Tommorow Land in the past is incredible.
The subs, monorail, people movers, and circle vision with families, young couples, and children enjoying their day. The murals were incredible too. This includes the skyway through the matterhorn that was genius. I know the people movers has a lot going to waste that is sitting there as well as the subs.
Though the subs are coming back, it shows the corporate greed of selling a movie instead of selling experience and adventure. How do you deviate from a genius (Walt) and his vision of a very special place?
good pic of what I am talking about.

I'm a huge Disneyland fan; not WDW, not Paris, Japan, or Cali adventure. The magic and warmth is only in Disneyland. I'd like to hear some thoughts on this subject, I know its been posted before. Sorry for the long thread; I guess I needed to let off some steam
Re: Screwing up Tomorrow Land Areas
People in the past didn't know any better.
Re: Screwing up Tomorrow Land Areas
I voted People Mover... but why is everything plural? I almost thought I had to pick all four!
Re: Screwing up Tomorrow Land Areas
I would bring Peoplemover back in Tomorrowland, but Skyway back in fantasyland. ;)
Re: Screwing up Tomorrow Land Areas
I want everything so badly back to Tomorrow Land that I made them plural ;-)
Sky Way Tram does affect the people energy moving through Tomorrow Land even though; yes, its techically Fantasy Land.
I just had it be one of each though I would like all 4 back and more. Only can work on one ride at a time and the Nemo subs is not the answer.
I'm sure a snob ;-)
Re: Screwing up Tomorrow Land Areas
I say bring them all back, but I chose Peoplemover above all else.
Re: Screwing up Tomorrow Land Areas
Well, I'm chiming in here. PM gets my vote since it made a HUGE thematic
(kinetic) difference to the feel of TL (way beyond its ridership). W/o it TL really
feels like there's something missing that's not evident until you see Yesterland
(or other videos).
I really want the Skyway as well, but it really wasn't as visible to TL as it was to
the Matterhorn and Fantasyland. But that's 2nd IMHO.
Subs is coming back (albeit in Nemo form) and we could do way better than CircleVision now technology wise. Also BLAB is very popular.
(well, I like it!)
Re: Screwing up Tomorrow Land Areas
The four I'll take are (given that the Subs are already scheduled):
PeopleMover (or Incredibles Pods or equivalent)
Skyway
Adventure Thru Inner Space (in Honey/Pizza area)
Rocket Jets (up on the platform where they belong)
also - -
Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress (back from WDW to its rightful home)
Flying Saucers
Space Bar (and SpaceMist Punch)
Home of the Future
Re: Screwing up Tomorrow Land Areas
i voted peoplemover ('s)? but i must say that i was all exited to ride the peoplemover in WDW and it was BOOOOORING , they would really have to spice it up to make it worth riding again
Re: Screwing up Tomorrow Land Areas
Adventure Through Inner Space & Mission to Mars!
Re: Screwing up Tomorrow Land Areas
No love for Adventures Thru Inner Space?
Re: Screwing up Tomorrow Land Areas
There is absolute love for Inner space and Mission to Mars. Inner Space was probably the first time in my life that I heard about what a molecule is; plus it was a very nice way to stay cool during the hot summers.
You are right, I should have added them both.
Re: Screwing up Tomorrow Land Areas
I voted for the PM only because the project hasn't totally been green-lit yet.
I wouldn't want it to come back exactly the way it was. I'd want it fresher and better.
Re: Screwing up Tomorrow Land Areas
I voted for Peoplemover. Subs are coming back anyway with better tech and lesser theme, so it's a wash. Circlevision bored me to tears as a kid, plus hated standing and watching a movie after walking around the park for hours. And the skyway always seemed ugly and tacky and am glad we now have a more complete Matterhorn since their demise.
I would like to see a new version of Adventures Through Inncer Space.
Or a ride where you go into a computer and see representations of computer parts (like the memory stick resembles a cyber brain) and the finale is you see antivirus drones fighting off spyware and a worm.
