Allergic to Disney Snow? Take the poll!

I've talked to a number of people who have had trouble with Disney's "snow." They have reported trouble breathing, sinus congestion, watering eyes and other allergic responses.

Has this happened to you or to someone you know?

its soap, a lot of folks are alergic to soap and falling flakes would be hard to take if you have alergys. I my self do not want near the stuff. ( but in montana we have plenty of the real stuff

Yep. The snow made it really hard (for my one little lung) to breathe. I don't know what is in it, but yeah.. not good. It WAS pretty though!

To live would be an awfully big adventure.

For some people, the more times they are exposed to it, the worse their reaction becomes.

Hey great I was sick of the snow so lets bring it up so Disney has to stop doing it........

I can tell that they go and do a million test before they do something like that. I know I had to test at a prior job the same type of stuff, I can tell you it might not taste good but it works fine.

It will be interesting to view the poll results. I've never had a problem with it or observed anyone else have a problem either. I mean....how long does it snow? Two minutes? And if you're having a problem, couldn't you move...um...about five feet away and be OUT from under the snow? And isn't the snow area marked on the guide maps? I love the snow effect, and we use it now after our holiday concert at my school.

Maybe I'm wrong here, but I REALLY don't see this as a big deal at all.

I thought those were the ashes from Tom Sawyer's Island being burnt to the ground.

My DW has a big problem with the stuff. But as you pointed out, the solution to her problem is simple - just step inside a Main Street Store and watch the snow from inside a window. Simple. Thats what we do.

It seems completely unnecessary for Disney to get rid of the snow. Sure, some of us may have allergic reactions to it. But it would be nice to know how many others have allergic reactions to the "snoap" as well. But just like the smoking areas, its something to avoid, not totally ban.

Besides, the snow looks so festive!

Would anyone know if the formula for the "snow" has changed over the years?

I'm so allergic that I've decided to stay in another country.

It sounds like something that I would start sneezing incessantly to, so I'm kind of glad I'm in the land Down Under.

Still, if someone could ship over a sample - or better yet, ship me over to Disneyland - I'll tell you conclusively!

We got bombarded by the snow machines by IASW, I yawned and it about killed me. It just took my breath away.

Will trade husband for Disneyland and DCA Pins!

Hmm... I hadn't noticed any problems.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

Well it is soap bubbles. And the "snow" machines still leak out soap bubbles even after the Believe show has ended.

My advice: Don't stick out your tongue or look "too" up!

(PS: I wish Disney would use real snow instead... Ah well, it won't happen.)

Re: Allergic to Disney Snow? Take the poll!

I dont have any allergic reaction except for when I open my mouth and a sud goes straight to the back of my throat, then I start to choke. But that is more of a reaction than an allergic reaction.
