I just rebooked my room last night for $30 less a night than I originally booked it for. (I am there from the 18-23) They said the rates went down because the occupancy wasnt as high as the were expecting.

So...it will be busy for sure but maybe not as bad as it could've been for the upcoming week, at least from the out of towners, also SoCal APs are blacked-out this week i believe?.

My kids are on break from 15th - 2nd, they attend one of the very few non year-round schools here in vegas.

They get an extra few days off at Christmas, but they will go a few extra days at the end of the year. It all depends on when Christmas falls. Locally, we get from the Friday before Christmas Eve for 2 weeks (return on the Tues after.) So, this year we are out from Dec 22-Jan 9th. We have a district that takes 2 weeks for Spring break, but they are also in school a week longer than the other local districts. So, you may have only gotten 2 weeks off, but you had a few more days of summer break. Our CSU started in Sept and was out last week, they start winter term Jan 3rd, but will be out after Spring term in mid May. All schools are different.

Oh I just meant my old high school! They get 3 weeks off this year not to mention all of these other extra days they got off. I never got 3 weeks for Christmas! It's ok though, I'm in college and during last semester I only went 2 days a week
