    Question Disneyland Rose Parade Float?

Anyone know if Disneyland will have a float in the 2007 Tournament of Roses parade? I just checked several sites with no luck finding the answer.

    Thanks,
    Aprille :-)

I don't know about that but since were on the RoseBowl, USC (and Michigan) will be out at Disneyland next Tuesday as part of the annual Rose Bowl teams DL trip. Does anyone know if the Rose Bowl merchandise location will be in the Esplanade again this year? It was very handy last year! I sold my tickets for the big game but I still want the program and such.

Probably not. They have nothing to promote other than that stupid year of a million selective giveaways.

There is no Disneyland float in this year's Tournament of Roses Parade.
However, look out for University of Redlands! I did quite a bit of decorating on that thing. Chances are, I'll be headed down to do more. Whee!

That is correct-- Disneyland will NOT have its own float, but will be participating in the City of Anaheim float.

I really wish they were participating in the parade again. That way I could take a bazillion pictures when it breaks down infront of me again.

    Star Wars Float

There will not be a Disneyland Float but George Lucas is the Grand Marshall (celebrating Star Wars 30th Year in 2007) and he sponsored TWO Floats! One of the floats will be escorted by . . . 250 STORMTROOPERS !

University of Redlands is celebrating 100 YEARS! Och Tamale!

There are plenty more surprises to come!

I was a Unit Manager in the parade last year.... The year that it rained for the first time in 50 years. In fact.... The disneyland float was constructed, tested and decorated in my float barn (azusa) !

Here's the release from City of Anaheim:

Anaheim's 150th Anniversary Set To Bloom In Pasadena

ANAHEIM, CA - (December 18, 2006) - American Idol finalist and Anaheim native Lisa Tucker will perform on Orange Countyís only Rose Parade float ANAHEIM, Calif. (December 18, 2006) Ė On New Yearís Day, the City of Anaheim will share the celebration its 150th birthday with the world at the 2007 Rose Parade.ģ Anaheimís own American Idol finalist, Lisa Tucker, will perform an original rendition of Frank Sinatraís "Young at Heart" on the float while 28 dancers perform alongside.

Accompanying Tucker on the float will be six winners of the Mayorís TechScholar program, an initiative sponsored by the City of Anaheim, EarthLink Municipal Networks and Anaheim Public Utilities to help Anaheim students advance technologically and academically. These students will be outfitted in gear from Anaheimís various sports teams and recognizable attractions, including the Anaheim Ducks, Angels Baseball, Anaheim Arsenal, USA Menís National Volleyball team, Disney and the Tiger Woods Learning Center.

Anaheimís float is themed with the Cityís sesquicentennial celebration motto, "Always Fresh & Never Grows Old" and will feature the Cityís historical agricultural roots while highlighting its contemporary landmarks. Decorated with a wide array of colorful flowers, oranges, grapes and other fruits, a depiction of the Santa Ana River will run through the center of the float. Disneylandís monorail and the Angel Stadium of Anaheimís haloed "Big A" will tower over the top of the float.

The monorail is covered in ground rice, silver leaf, black seaweed and statice. The areaís namesake oranges are covered in ground lentil, yellow split pea and rice; an orange crate "label," which is the Cityís anniversary logo, is "painted" with sesame and poppy seeds, lentils and statice flower. The sunflowers are created with sunflower "heads" and corn husk.

Trademark Southern California palm trees are made up of commander fern and dendrobium orchids perched atop palm fiber enclosed trunks. Fireworks at the rear of the float explode with dendrobium orchids presented in "bursts" and on "coco" sticks.

Designed by Michelle Lofthouse and decorated by Phoenix Decorating Company, the 55-foot long and 45-foot wide float is the only float representing an Orange County city. The Disneyland Resort lent its expertise to enhance the entertainment aspects of the float.

To view Anaheimís float during decoration, or to volunteer to decorate, visit the Anaheim 150 website and www.anaheim.net.

    Re: Disneyland Rose Parade Float?

I picked up a Rose Parade program in Pasadena, where I live. Neither Disneyland, nor Disney Resorts is listed as having a float for the 2007 parade. With the nature theme of the parade, I had thought maybe they'd do an undersea float to promote the Nemo Subs.

Disneyland will be represented in the parade, though. As someone has already poste, the City of Anaheim will have a float (entry 48) that will have a representation of the Disneyland Monorail on it. (For those wondering, it's the current Monorails depicted in the artist rendering, not the upcoming new ones.)

Browsing through the artist renderings and descriptions, there will be some exceptional floats this year. I always like the ones with animals, birds and nature themes, and since the theme is "Our Good Nature", there will be lots of that.

Star Wars fans will definitely want to see the "Star Wars Spectacular" section (entries 31-33). This will be awesome. At the front is a large depiction of an Ewok village. This is followed by a band dressed as Imperial Officers playing new arrangements of John William's music. They are followed by 200 Storm Trouper fan re-enactors led by Darth Vader. The finale float is a spectacular depiction of Naboo that will include 5 waterfalls, the majestic Palace of Theed and three queens of Naboo guarded by Jedi Knights. (George Lucas, the Grand Marshall, will be entry 51.)

Another not-to-be-missed float will be Honda's (entry 27), which will feature two of the most impressive dragons ever created for the parade. The "good dragon" will breath real fire as it protects a fairy tale castle from an "evil dragon".

I am so there on Colorado Blvd. on New Year's morning!

    Re: Disneyland Rose Parade Float?

I see that the Anaheim float is being built by Phoenix, so maybe I'll get to see it during decorating open house. One of the Phoenix facilities is right by where I park my car to ride the Gold Line to work. I've seen various floats out on the street at times over the past months as they bring them out for the tests and inspections they have to undergo. Phoenix also has facilities over by the Rose Bowl that you can visit at designated times.
