Queues...is it always quicker on the right side?

Is there a pattern to whether it is quicker to wait in the left or the right hand side? I ALWAYS choose the longer wait. No matter how hard I try to analyze the flow, I am always still waiting while my 'test person' from the other side of the queue is on his/her way.

Go to the right. It's faster. It really is.

I live 2 miles away from Disneyland if Walt would've built it at Riverside and Buena Vista.

I'd have to disagree, particularly when it comes to the Matterhorn. When both sides are open, the right side seems to be always be the shorter/quicker line .... Or maybe that's because more people would rather ride the Tomorrowland side.

On Indy it's the left side. less distance to walk(it's the inside lane! ) and more importantly no stairway go-around when you get off the ride as long as there's an even number of vehicles heh.

It's statistically proven that most people chose left, but I can't say about the line lengths.
It's kind of fun to do the impossible!

DiSnEyFrEaK21 and i always use the left side...because we believe that the majority of ppl have a tendancy to move to the right...this includes entering the park and using walkways...it works for us. so yeah

Re: Queues...is it always quicker on the right side?

I'm not sure where you guys are gettinging go right from. When presented with two apparently equal choices the vast majority of people will go to the right. This has to do with most people being right handed and that we all drive on the right side of the road. Every other time I've seen this question come up, the answer has always been go left. But this only works when the options appear equal at the start. Pirates is probablly too small of a queue when presented with the choice, so right does sound like it makes sense there. However, at Disneyland this may have been worked into a science by the locals, thus resulting in the opposite of the normative.

What ever you do, don't follow me...left, right, it doesn't matter, whichever line I pick, it's the slowest

For what its worth whenever we go on the train the right side is ALWAYS more crowded than the left.

Last weekend HMH had both lines open but for some reason everyone chose to wait in the left hand side. My boyfriend and I chose to go to the right and literally walked right into the foyer.
