While mostly it was a history of the subs and concept art, they did show an imagineer working on the AAs of the seagulls on a buoy. So, looks like the popular AAs from EPCOT's Nemo will be appearing in California definitely.
I've noticed that they cut about half of Ryan's lines so far, the whole parade was rushed by in almost a minute and they usually just have floats sporadically going by throughout the broadcast. Overall it seems like they made it looked pretaped more than ever.
And hahahahaha they brought in the villain's float and used the Boo to You music
They state in legal text that it was prerecorded. People have already tried the showing up at the park on xmas and getting mad at Disney route years ago. They hardly mentioned live this year compared to other years and the whole thing felt pretaped anyways. They didn't go out into the crowds and talk to people or do live little shindigs around the rest of the park they just kept jumping through floats on Main Street to the point it was obviously skipping ahead in time.
Hey look everyone! Parade of Dreams is live on ABC and the castle has its 50th ears back on it! Wow that's amazing!
//was wondering if they'd ever use the footage they shot last year :P
They showed a whole big segment on POD during last year's 50th broadcast. They just re-aired the Welcome portion this year, same with the Festival of the Lion King performace in the MK (also from last year's airing!).
^ You can?? From my knowledge, TV stations don't usually sell copies of anything they air...
ANYWAYS, they should do a 1 hour TV special on FNSV. Back to the good old days. We've got a new CEO, new DLR president, etc. It's time to go back to tradition I say!
I think the last time Disney really did any specials beside for X-mas (maybe Easter) was for DCA...
Disney used to do specials when they had a new park opening up.
Also, disney used to do specials for certain major park anniversaries (those were fun to watch). Sad we didn't get one for the 50th.
And they used to do specials for the 'making of' of the lastest feature animated film. Either that, or a special for the premiere.
Though with the Pixar folks in charge, I doubt we will see much making of specials regarding the WDFA films before they actually open. John, Ed, and the Pixar gang are quite secretive folks...to quite a high level.
Sometimes these were on network tv, sometimes just the old disney channel.
Now...nothing but Christmas.
and the occasional travel channels specials, which are quite nice.
