New Year's Eve 2007 - News and Running Report Thread

Hey everybody. Since I'm at the Resort today, I figured I'd keep you all updated on the status of the parks today from my Sidekick.

As expected, the parks are busy. We got here a little after 11am, and all signage and CMs were notifying us that Disneyland Park was sold out.

Lines to get in were small, however, and lines at the ticket booths weren't very large either. I suppose a lot of people were discouraged at the signage and left instead of attempting to still get in.

A friend of mine just notified me that despite all the warnings, they just got into Disneyland. He said that the CM said that they are almost sold out, so they put up the signs early as a precaution, but some tickets are still available.

A maingate CM warned us that by her estimations dusk would likely be the end of re-admission to Disneyland Park. So if you want in, make sure you're in by sunset.

I'll be posting periodic updates and some photos from my cellphone as the day progresses.

I'm leaving in about an hour or two (on top of living an hour away), so I guess no Disneyland for me tonight

We'll be back in DL in about an hour. We were there this morning so we already have our hand stamped and parking ticket... hopefully that'll make the difference.

Any suggestions on where I should bother to try parking?

I'm eating dinner with my family at 5:30 and then going over there into DCA(which I'm being assured I'll be able to get into). I'm quite aware of the packed nature of the whole resort area all day especially at night and I figure that DTD parking will probably also be full by then anyways and am wondering where else I might just go ahead and try parking at first.

I just talked to a CM friend who said that a guest had told him he was parked in the Pumbaa lot. My friend said he didn't even know they had a Pumbaa lot! Apparently they do. Where it is, I don't know -- but maybe you guys can park in it??

We came into town from Bakersfield, so we're staying the night since its going to be a laaate night.

We initially were going to park at Timon and check into our room early tomorrow morning. However, when we got to the Timon entrance, we were directed to turn around and go to Pumbaa. With that news, we just went to out Hotel, parked and took our hotel shuttle. It runs till 3am.

I don't know how Mickey & Friends is, and I'm sure with the Goo Goo Dolls concert tonight in DTD, it'll be packed down there, so I'd recommend parking at a nearby hotel, paying the $3 for a ART Bus Pass and taking the hotel shuttles into the Resort.

We just got back from the noon meet and it's fairly crowded. I've seen worse but not too often. The parking structure is on and off full from what I heard while we were there. So Pumba may be the way to go. It is the lot across Harbor.
