It's late, and I need to get some sleep...
Happy New Year, everyone!
GETTING READY FOR THE NEW YEAR
The stage and lighting in front of the Castle and in the hub were set up for the night's festivities:
The wait board:
Crowds lined up early:
NEMO'S WONDERFUL WORLD OF COLOR - PT. 3
I know there's an Abominable Snowman footprint in front of the Matterhorn at the chain queue entrance, but I've never seen this one on the other side of the Mountain... is it new?
The park was busy, so we set up shop over by the old Motorboat Cruise dock and played Mickey Mouse Monopoly for about 2 hours. Good times!
NEW YEAR'S EVE FESTIVITIES...
Crowd control was crazy - a CM climbed on top of the Tomorrowland rocks to help grab Guest's attention while directing them...
We played Mickey Monopoly for a little while longer at the Golden Horseshoe while Believe... In Holiday Magic and Fantasmic! went on outside...
After going and eating dinner at Plaza Inn, we finally staked out a spot half-way down Main Street, between the Blue Ribbon Bakery and Disney Clothiers.
Giant beach balls made their way down Main Street:
...And finally the countdown began, and the sky exploded in fireworks to ring in the New Year. Watch the video:
After fireworks, guests were escorted through Backstage to get out of the park... The following is a video of Backstage. To preserve the magic, don't click...
It was around 12:30am when we decided to hit up DCA for the last half hour it was open...
Here are some photos of the New Year's Eve set-up around the park:
Light projections swirling on the ground:
The Pacific Wharf bridge had cool color-changing lighting for the occasion and was covered overhead by a bright white canopy:
...And back at Disneyland, the Castle was glowing with changing colors and Main Street and the Hub were alive with upbeat pop versions of classic Disney songs:
...Alright... that's all. Hope you all had a happy and safe New Year's Eve.
Happy New Year!
