Why did they need a tribute if they could just keep it? The rock is bound to have the same space as the original AA!

It was very old and in very bad shape.

At least they didn't destroy it like WDW did with their Sea Serpent.

Uhg that's disgusting. They just let everything rot underwater for all those years...so stupid and unclean! Bleh!

Rock formation tribute? Do you know someone who has an "in" or have you seen something in the lagoon?

Anyhow, great video and thanks for sharing!

http://www.visionsfantastic.com/ has a lot of videos including submarine voyage that aren't higher resolution because it's a downloading site and not torrents, however the quality is better than youtube for sure because it's better than flash videos.

Yeah, I can't believe that BOTH parks just let that stuff sit under water and rot for so long. Classic attractions sitting underwater rotting for what, 8 years in the Disneyland case and 10 years in the WDW version? I don't think Walt would be very happy. I still can't believe there was actually a squid in the Disneyland version, I wish there were better picture of it.

They're only allowed to drain the thing so many times. They had to build it to last underwater as best as possible, they can't keep doing full refurbs for all the stuff unfortunately it's just not feasible probably

I think they show the squid on the Disneyland '59 episode that was put in the "Your Host, Walt Disney" Disney Treaures DVD set.

Why cant they just build a new Sea Serpent for the new ride? I want a full fledged sea serpent...he is a mainstay of the classic attraction and it will bring a big smile to longtime disneyfans faces to see him again.

I'd love to see that. It seems like 20k pictures are readibly avaliable but Voyage pictures are scarce.

The Squid was still there during those 8 years? Photos during draining anyone?

The Squid, Graveyard of Lost Ships, Volcano, and Polar Ice Caps have not been dug out. Only the Atlantis Scene. Since there has been no sign of demo to anything there, I guess all those scenes will reappear.

Graveyard- Bruce, Chum, And Anchor's home.

Ice Caps- Part with Angler Fish

    Volcano- See Press Release

Squid- It hasn't been removed so it should be there!

How do we know that they just sold the old one and built a new one?

    !
The scene with Bruce, Chum, and Anchor is actually in the new showbuilding they built...it involves sunken submarines (im hoping for a nautilus cameo somewhere) and a minefield.

I hope the graveyard of lost ships returns though.
