    Double Cancellation!

Just received word by cellphone from fellow micechatter at Disneyland that both Believe and Fantasmic (10:30 PM, not sure about the 9:00) have been cancelled due to winds. I expected Believe, but I rarely see Fantasmic cancelled. Wow. Strong winds today!

It happens. Fantasmic most importantly due to the safety of the performers.

I'm not sure about Anaheim, but we've had unusually strong gusts the last couple of days where I live in Northwest Ventura County, right along the coast. So I'm not surprised by that news from Anaheim, at all.

    Re: Double Cancellation!

They'll do Fantasmic in the low end of high winds and they'll do it in a drizzle too as long as it's not really raining and the stage isn't too slippery, so it's still surprising when it gets cancelled.

Yes, the Santa Ana's today in beautiful Orange County have been quite strong. Not the strongest I've seen it, but it's close to it.

    Bummer

But, safety come first, and with these winds, IMO, they made the right choice.

What's worse is that they closed Alice IN Wonderland right when I was wanting to go on... because they always close it for the fireworks.

    The fireworks that were cancelled!

I haven't been on that ride in half a decade.

9:00 was fine-ish. They didn't fire a bunch of the shells.
I was really weird to see Fantasmic cancelled, but they had to call down the spot operators for safety fears.
    It was very very windy.
