    Why do you love disneyland?

Is it because of the rides? The smells? The food? The entertainment? Or just the plain atmosphere? Why do you love (or hate...but I guess you wouldn't be here if you did) disneyland?

I love it for the overall atmosphere. Just the scenery makes me feel good and not worry about things going on in my life. It's like you're just sucked into a whole nother world.

It makes me feel happy inside, the fireworks make me teary eyed and I still get excited to take my pic with Mickey

I love the fact that I can spend almost 20 dollars for two burgers, two fries and two cokes when I could buy twice as much outside the park and the food would taste twice as good.

I love the pure magical escapism of it. After spending 14 hours on a plane, arriving in a place that a Castle, pirates, haunted mansions and flying elephants convinces me that I may have just left planet earth and arrived in a different plane of existence.

Can't pick just one category, because what makes Disneyland great to me is the whole package. For example, if you took Space Mountain out of Disneyland and plunked it down at my local fair, it wouldn't be the same. And the same thing goes for every other individual "thing" about Disneyland. But when you add it all up, put it all together and place a berm around it, there's nowhere else I'd rather be.

I suspect that your poll is going to come out very nearly 100% for the last option. It might be interesting to see the results if you left that out, but I guess I'd then vote for "atmosphere" as that comes the closest to summing up everything.

Like all the others thus far, I'd have to say "all of the above". Take away any one aspect from the mix, and it just wouldn't be Disneyland.

More than 50 years ago, Walt Disney unveiled his dream for a themed "amusement park" that would be unlike any other such park to the point where we wouldn't call it a mere amusement park.

And the place has been the source of much laughter, more than a few tears, shrieks of joy and knowing smiles for millions of people the world over.

Disneyland has been an integral part of my life for going on 46 years now - and it was my employer for eight of the best years of that life.

I've "seen" her in all her glory, and with the flaws that one would only see in a more personal relationship.

But much like a marriage, I love her all the more because of all her perfections, imperfections, and magic.

The original, and still the best.

    THAT's why I love Disneyland.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

It appeals to the child in everyone, and provides a place where you can let him out to run around awhile.

I think this thread was a no brainer. Everyone is answering either atmosphere or combination.

    I chose atmosphere because:
The smells, the rides, the entertainment, the scenery, the food and the shows are all part of the overall ATMOSPHERE.
