Grand Californian Entrance...

Hi...
does anybody know how rigorously they enforce the "Hotel Guests Only" policy at the Grand California entrance to DCA? My girlfriend and I used it last night to enter the hotel from the park, and then to get back into the park again, and they didn't even ask us if we were guests at the hotel at all... do any passholders out there regularly use this gate to get into DCA at the start of their day, or do the CMs turn you away? Thanks...

I don't know. I've been there once but I was a hotel guest so it didn't matter....not a very good post huh? (on my part).

We eat at Whitewater Snacks every trip and we never stay on property. They have never asked us if we were hotel guests.

Re: Grand Californian Entrance...

I don't think there is such a policy. We frequently eat at Storyteller's or hang out at Hearthside, and we've never been asked. I don't think it makes a lot of sense for them to tell a paying park customer they have to leave the park and walk all the way around the outside to eat at one of the hotel restaurants.

Re: Grand Californian Entrance...

We went to go eat at Storyteller's one time. They did not start serving lunch until 12. So we said let's go to the park for a few. We went to the hotel entrance and they wanted to see our room key. We said we were coming from the restaurant...he said you have to use the main entrance..this entrance is for hotel guests only. I have heard they really only enforce it in the mornings...before 12 pm. But I can say...yes I have been turned away from that entrance.

Re: Grand Californian Entrance...

Ahhhh... well, since I only ever get to the park during the evening or, at the earliest, late afternoon, it sounds like it's worth a shot, then! Thanks so much for all the responses... I can always depend on Mice Chatters!

Re: Grand Californian Entrance...

They only enforce the policy before noon, after that anyone with a valid passport can enter

They are strict if you try using it before noon and your not a hotel guest. That's what I've had CM's tell me.
