    Are you a Disneyland Expert?

If you're reading this the answer is probably yes. I never really thought about how much I knew about the park until last week when I was there with a friend who was not as big a fan as I. I had a great time pointing out hidden details and telling him trivia but what really impressed him were these three things: I could translate the Lattin motto on MTWR, I understood the telegraph at the NOS RR station and I could read the inscriptions along the Indy queue. If you can do those three things, he said, you're an expert, so are you? Bonus points if you can think of other things at Disneyland only an "expert" would understand.

Either an expert or a hopeless geek, I'm just not sure which I am.

Not really, but thanks to all the people here I'll now be able to point out a lot of neat stuff to my family next time we go.

Well, I don't consider myself an expert at all (I read your post because of curiosity).

I'm just a guy who has grown up with the place (I'm 50 years old), worked there almost eight years back in the Stone Age of 74-82, and I'm still in love with the place.

What that makes me, I'm not sure either.

1313Harbor...welcome aboard!!! That's an address I'll certainly never forget.

Hmmm... does knowing the recipes for Monte Cristo sammiches and the Bengal BBQ sqewers count?

(please forgive my spelling, nothing looks right!)

I know a fair bit about various types of cheese.

    Does that count for anything?

You are a Disneyland expert if you know where all the bathrooms are.

    All other information is irrelevant.

Ok Barry, if you start that ball rolling again you need to prove which one is the secret one LOL

I agree with Radiobarry - I don't consider myself an "expert" so to speak. I am just someone who has grown up around the park and love it! There are soooo many people who know more then me!!! Do I know more then most, sure - but that doesn't make me an expert. I just love the place that's all really.

Oh...and I know where the hidden bathroom is

Then I'd better stop this ball rolling since I remember threads dedicated to the subject but I'm not sure where it is!!!

I have no idea what ingredients go into a Disneyland Churro, and don't want to know.

So I guess I'll never be an expert.

Re: Are you a Disneyland Expert?

A few other items I would consider 'expert' material...

    1. The Matterhorn Half-Court [and the story of why it was built in there]
    2. City Hall Recipe book [contains recipes for almost every food item in the park... Mint Juleps anyone?]
    3. The story behind the light in Walt's Apartment [and where it is, for that matter]
    4. The History of Dr. Silverstein [Main Street's only Jewish Resident]

Am I leaving out anything terribly important??

Re: Are you a Disneyland Expert?

Give me a random picture of a cast member with no readly identifiable park features. I can tell you from what era the picture is just by the style of nametag the cast member is wearing.
