Re: Wonderful World of Color Nightime Water Show & Carland Location

Im wondering if Carland will have any other attractions besides CARS, it is a land, I'm guessing it will have more than one attraction

I would suspect the water show to use technology that the Bellagio uses in Las Vegas, that would be spectacular in its own right.

It was only a matter of time, PI, before you resorted to that sort of dig.
Less than manly? Please. I still enjoy Disneyland entertainment despite my straight sexuality. By your logic, my username should not be "mrfantasmic" but something else.
    Please.

How do you know my sexuality?

    I'm familiar with Steve as a person, and he's a great guy. So, I wasn't being mean-spirited.

I really don't care about your sexuality. That's not the point.
And being familiar with someone does not license you to accuse that his work somehow "exposes" his sexuality.
It's like saying him being gay is the reason for his success.

Regardless of your feelings toward Steve, your use of "namby pamby", "less than manly," etc. is insulting to many users of this board, including myself.

On another note, a colorful lagoon show sounds immensely promising, but A Bug's Land does not have NEARLY enough space for the sort of attraction they're looking at. If they somehow expand it back to the timon lot, then that would work.

I'm sure you know Steve, and I'm sure you know how fun he is to be around. I love most everything he does, myself, and his descriptions of all the things he's going to do are oftentimes even more entertaining than the finished products, themselves. He shares that trait with Walt Disney, himself.

I was just making an observation about Disneyland's entertainment being less than manly, sometimes. It's not just Steve's work; Disney Parks' marketing is oriented toward 18-40-year-old women, and that femininity can be off-putting to many men and boys, as well as to some women and girls.
Actually, I didn't mean it that way, I think the way I phrased it made it come off a bit more seriously than I meant. sorry about that. I just couldn't really get how sexuality is linked to little things in the shows such as using a childrens choir. Though I do understand a bit how the shows and parades can get a bit too...lets say...'mushy'? Honestly, I am not a fan of the childrens choir thing, and prefer the old-school Disney vocal sound that use to be the staple of parades and shows. And I would prefer Disney to start thinking outside of the box when it comes to the 'feel' of the productions...not everything has to be about sentimental dreams and wishes and childhood. That's actually why I personally like Block Party and the sort of rock/pop feel to the show stop in Parade of Dreams. as for fireworks, I prefer Remember and the new Magic, Music and Mayhem. More intense, thrilling, and a bit different.

I just wish for a show with classic Disney music instead of a new soundtrack with moppets singing about magic and dreams and yeah, wishes.

Don't forget BraviSEAmo, also at Tokyo DisneySea! It's my favorite lagoon show along with Fantasmic, except I like BraviSEAmo's soundtrack better.

    Uh-oh!

Carland right next to Bug's land??????? This is a disaster waiting to happen!!!!!!
Bug's and Cars just don't mix well! Whichever bugs don't go splat on the grill or
the windshield, get plastered on the road!

It's not a pleasant experience for the car, and even worse for the bugs.

Marcie is a poster at MouseInfo who apparently works for Team Disney Anaheim.

Carsland concerns me. The land should not be based solely around Cars. I really enjoyed the film, and it is a Pixar film that clearly fits into the original theme of Disney's California Adventure. I just don't feel one film is enough content to continually statisfy the needs of an entire land.

Wow! I was warned to stay away from the DL Board here and now I know why. Everything turns so nasty, so quickly. And people jump to all sorts of conclusions.

I know Steve, well, I've met him ... we're not buds or anything. He is very flamboyant. Read into that whatever you chose. He's also the best thing to happen to Disney parks entertainment in years.

I honestly don't know anything the man has touched that hasn't been of quality. And most of his hits aren't singles and doubles, but home runs.

World of Color also has that potential.

I'm really interested in the concept, myself.

I always thought that the "Disneyland" anthology series had the potential to be represented in some way at D.C.A., and a pageant on the water seems to hold tremendous potential for using the television show to approach the Disneyland material in a unique way that is in keeping with original concept for the park.
