    Thumbs up Disneyland Job Fair

I saw this on the Disney Careers website and thought some MCers might be interested in it.

I hadn't heard of Disney doing Job Fairs before. It's new to me.

Has anyone been to this before? Reactions?

I went to one back in 1999, they do big group interviews, get your hopes up high, and then dont hire you. lol. That was 99...

Now, ive heard they simply check your pulse and if you are alive, you are hired and sent to wardrobe. lol

They do these about every 2-3 months right now... With Spring Break coming, they need more help (like they don't need it all the time, but attendance is going to be picking up)
They are also giving current CM's a bonus for reffering ppl...

Not really... And that comment is kind of a 'smack in the face' to new hires out there.

Head over to TDA and watch the people walking out with new hire packets, much smaller percent than the hundreds that go in each day to be interviewed.

I don't understand what you mean by "Getting your hopes up"... umm, have you never been interviewed before? You have to go through an interview by almost any company in America for them to decide if you're what they are looking for.

I think they are good... Most of the time you'll get a chance to meet CM's from different departments and figure out what might interest you. Of course you can always just walk into the Casting Center (aka - "TDA"/Team Disney Anaheim) and apply, but the job fairs provide more info on different CM roles throughout the resort.

Disney is also very upfront about what you'll be making per hour before you go through the interview process, so that can help you decide as well. Posted directly here- http://disney.go.com/disneycareers/d...y/hourly2.html

Just wanted to add to my post that I'll admit Disney isn't for everyone... and the hours can be crazy at times, but IMO, it is a fun and good place to work.

    Never checked my pulse.

    I think it was optional.

My friend went to a job fair a couple months ago. Took her about 3 hours and it was just the normal process speeded up a bit.. you get a small group interview after passing a computer survey and then they take you back individually and tell you if you got a job or not. It's kinda fun you get to sit and watch a Disney movie while you wait.

I on the other hand took 5 hours to get hired on a regular day at TDA. It was long and drawn out but well worth it.

And reliable transportation. My group interview the other two people weren't hired because they didn't drive they relied on the bus system.

That seems rather odd, given that I have an OCTA bus pass paid for by Disney, and I take the bus to and from work fairly regularly.

I was curious and am thinking about checking it out. I do have retail management experience.
