Since so many people are going to be watching the super bowl, I've decided to take the familyto DLR instead. Hopefully the crowds will be down. Is anyone else going to be there next Sunday?

Luckily, I'll be in Anaheim for a convention. Forget about the Super Bowl, I'm going to Disneyland! (go Eagles)

My friend and I did this one year and found the park chocked full with children, moms and all the gay men in Orange County...

Uh-oh....I hope this doesn't become a trend. My wife and I will be there, as well. Please everyone; Stay home and watch the Super Bowl.
Hubby and I went (BC-before child) about 10 years ago...it was empty. This was also the year that Super Bowl was held in the Rose Bowl. The majority of the people in the park were moms and their kidlets whose husbands were at the Rose Bowl. It was also raining the night before and sprinkling a tad that day. The park was empty by 2 as the kidlets had to go to their hotels for naps. Every ride was a walk-on.
I took the kids to the park on SBS last year. We had a great time. It wasn't too crowded. Many years ago, this used to be the perfect, slow day to visit DL. These days, not so much. The same used to be true of Mother's Day too.
Anything listed on the park maps as an attraction is fair game for inclusion in the Rally.
I cannot confirm nor deny the inclusion of any attraction in the Rally.
May the Gumballs Be with You...Always.
Sounds like any day at DL.Originally Posted by Gemini Cricket

Ahoy all,
It will still be Gift-With-Purchase(pins) Sunday that day(the first Sun of the month). So most pin traders will be there albeit maybe a shortened version(me 9:00am-2:00pm or so). I wish they were on different days. I want to do both.
Aprille :-)
So, now I'll not only have to watch out for strollers everywhere, but geeks with briefcases, as wellOriginally Posted by prillzilla

I've been to DL a number of SBS & have never seen it any different than any other Sunday - except for the sports geeks with their radios and/or hand-held TV's following the game as they stand in line, etc. I must have missed the day it was at the Rose Bowl.
Most pin traders carry soft cases to hold their pins, never seen a briefcase.
Some of us collectors do predate the pin people and no, I don't consider myself a geek.
Uh, look at the jpg under my name to the left of this.

I've gone to the resort two years for Superbowl Sunday and I was dissappointed with the crowds... way more people than I thought. The first year I thought it was a fluke (the Superbowl was in San Diego), so I went the second year... never again. It seemed busier than your average off-season Sunday. It's still better than any August Sunday, but do not go expecting it to be light. By my estimation, it's not.
I'd rather invite a couple friends over, watch the commercials, and eat lots of spicy appetizers and tacos during the game.
Ah, the old "go somewhere while everyone is staying at home and watching the Super Bowl" trick.
I did this exact scheme last year. The fatal flaw in my plan was that I went to Las Vegas, forgetting about all the sports bettors. Oops, backfired!
This sounds like one of those deals where everyone goes thinking that no one is gonna be there... hehe.
That happens a lot in my restaurant... the crowds will be huge and people will say "gee... I didn't think anyone would be out today!" Everyone else just had the same thought.
It will be crowded. I'll probibly go early to watch people and end up at the Lost Bar.Can't beat that. Yes, it is a favurate hang out.
