Guest Car Of The Day. How does that work?

The last few times that I have been to the parking structure I have seen these two reserved parking spaces with the signs indicating that they are reserved for the guest car of the day. I have yet to see anyone parked in those spaces.

How does this even work? I mean, lets say you get approached by the "dream team" and you win the space. So what happens now? Do they think a person is going to walk all the way back to their car in the structure and move it to one of the reserved spaces? What if the guest is staying in a local hotel and walked to the park? What if the person has no car?

Honestly, this is the STUPIDEST giveaway ever. What's next? Front of the line fastpass for the Disneyland Road?

i would assume it gets awarded at the parking booths...and honestly, i woudln't turn it down, way better than parking in the far northwest corner of the garage

If it gets awarded at the booths why do I never see anyone using them?

Gheez... Disney gives away *free* things and people complain about it! Guess some people can never be happy. I'm glad I don't have that view in life.

As far as the parking thing goes... have you sat near those spots and watched them from 7:00am until closing to see if people park there? I know this might be a shock to you but guests might actually leave the park at different times. The spots are probably randomly given out as well, so if you get to the park at 5pm or 9am it won't matter... you'd still get a chance to park closer.

Is it really that big of deal to you?

I just want someone who knows what they are talking about to explain it to me. Not just assumptions or guesses.

I bet these winners are in SUV's or minivans. Somehow I don't think me in my MINI will ever win of these passes.

So you've already asked a parking CM, right? Seems like that'd be the logical place to start with since you want someone who, "knows what they are talking about". I guess you've already asked City Hall to?

    If not, maybe you should...

I usually get to the park later in the day and park in the front spots.. it's not such a big deal.

What if one was to just drive into the spot?

The OP is assuming that the spots aren't being given away in the first place. The reply simply asked if the OP can verify this by his continued stake out of the two parking spots. The OP then implies that the the person responding doesn't know what he is talking about.

Since the whole YOAMD thing is a sweepstakes, there really isn't a way to say how to get those parking spots. Its completely up to the luck of the draw.

    That is rude.

What is really rude is how the California Lottery doesn't give me the winning numbers ahead of time...

Re: Guest Car Of The Day. How does that work?

We usually arrive in the late morning or early afternoon. A few weeks ago we parked our car and got out and while my husband was fumbling around in the trunk of the car I noticed we had parked in a spot that had a sign turned on the bias and upon closer inspection it was on of those Guest of the Day parking signs. We were only steps away from the crossing guard CM that gets you safely from Pinnochio to the trams, so my husband went over and asked whether we should move the car, and the CM said not to bother and designated us 'Guests of the Day'.
