AdventureLand could be an EarthLand with attractions based on some of Nature's most awesome spectactles like a Journey to the center of the earth or a Volcano ride. Mainstreet instead of being based on the 1920's would become a sprawling 1950's streetcorner. Still Disneyland without being the exact copy.

Feel free, the best form of flattery is imitation. There are really good armchair imagineering ideas that have become so good that others adapt them for their own ideas. And to be honest, The Discovery Bay idea has been kicked around since the sixties if not earlier.

I'd love to see an Aladdin Magic Carpet Dark Ride. Kind of like PP. I'm not sure how to suspend it, but it would be cool to have the carpet fly in and out of the cave of wonders and then around Agrabah and finally the tour 'round the world that Al took Jasmine on with miniatures in different show rooms.

Instead of Narnia, how about "The Land of Fantasy," where it can be a combination of Narnia and Teriberthia (did I spell that right?).

Personally, I'd like to see DL left as it is with its usual up keep and perhaps an increased frequency of new attractions. Demolish CA and mirror DL in CA's place. The mirrored DL would be a Villians park. By mirrored I mean same general layout, different castle and rides themed to villians.

Re: Ideas for a New Disneyland

I'll take a wack at it:

    MAIN ST. USA:

BULLY FOR AMERICA---Theodore Roosevelt and others give inspirational speeches about the greatness of the United States of Amercia. AA show in the same vain as Mr. Lincoln and Hall of Presidents.

DISNEYLAND RAIL ROAD---Circle the Park aboard these classic steam trains from bygone eras. Stops at Frontierland, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland...followed by a vist to the MAN LOOKING TO THE STARS & APOLLO 11 LUNAR LANDING DIORAMAS---In the first diorama the train goes by a scene dipicting Plains Indians looking up at a star filled sky....the second diorama show a full size re-creation of the Eagle Landing at Tranquility.

THE WALT DISNEY STORY---Multi-media show depicting the history of the great man himself, Walt Disney. The show ends with Walt giving a speech that includes some of his most memorable quotes via a medium that he is most famous for...Audio Animontronics.

MAIN ST. VEHICLES---Including a Fire Engine, Horse Drawn St. Car, Omnibus, and Bicycles made for 7(don't worry, two of the seats are taken up by very strong, pro bike riders).

Arcades, stores, and restaurants round out this land.

    ADVENTURELAND:

WILD SAFARI---Take a zany trip thru the Jungles of South Asia, the Veldts of Africa, and the Rain Forest of South America to see Rare plants and animals and even a lost city. Kind of like the Jungle Cruise except instead of boats the trip is via jeeps similar to those ride vehicles of Indiana Jones.

FIRE MOUNTAIN---A South seas island volcano is the setting for this roller coaster type attraction. Escape the volcano thru caves and thick jungles....just ahead of the steaming lava.

LUAU COVE---Serving both lunch and dinner this eatery has a floor show featuring Hula dancers and firewalkers.

    FRONTIERLAND:

WESTERN RIVER EXPEDITION---Journey thru stragne and humourus vistas aboard flat bottomed boats....watch out for waterfalls. Similar to Pirates of the Caribean but with more water drops and a bit longer show scenes.

MESA MOUNTAIN MINE TRAINS---A sedate and tranquil journey thru the wonders of nature...until the engine sepeartes from the train and we plunge backwards into a lost mine...out-of-control!

DAVY CROCKETS ISLAND---Explore caves, forts, and other wilderness fun on this fun island. Similar to Tom Sawyers Island but with multiple forts and more varied terrain.

FRONTIERLAND RIVERBOATs---One sidewheeler and another sternwheeler cirlce Crockets Island.

AMERICAN CLIPPER---Tall sailing ship makes the journey around Crockets Island.

KEEL BOATS---Another, more unique way to see the waters around Crockets Island.

GOLDEN HORSESHOE---Dancing girls, cowboys, and gunslingers bring the old West to life in a hoot n'holler stage show.

GHOST TOWN---"Horseless" carriages take brave souls on a journey thru a scary, but somwhat humorous mining town where the only permanent residents are dying with civic pride. Similar to the Haunted Mansion but with a decidedly Western twist.

    FANTASYLAND:

BELLE'S CASTLE---The entrance to Fantasyland is the most enchanting of Castles.

BEAUTY & THE BEAST--- A whole world opens up to visitors aboard their Omnivor ride vehicles as they sing with the villagers of the Provincial town, escape wolves, and enjoy a feast with singing dishes....before finally witnessing the amazing transformation of the enchanted Castle and its' inhabitants. Inside the Castle itself, this attraction is no mere dark ride but an entire immersive adventure that would be better compared to attractions such as the Haunted Mansion or even Pirates of the Cariben. The queue sets the mood as it snakes thru such memorable rooms from the animated classic including the Library, the Ball Room, and even the forbidden North Wing.

MARY POPPINS CAROUSEL: Ride along with Mary Poppins in a most perfect way.

The Little Mermaid Ride: Glide along in your seashell to experience some of Ariels most memorable adventures.

MR TOAD'S WILD RIDE: Try to keep up with Mr. Toad on this winding chase thru Toad Hall, the streets of London, and even the underworld itself. Quite similar to the orginal Disneyland attraction but with "autopia" type cars which will give the riders some degree of control over their ride vehicles.

SKYWAY TO TOMORROWLAND: One way journey; enjoy an aerial view of the Magic Kingdom.

NEVERLAND CANAL BOATS: Journey around and thru the Island where Peter Pan and Captain Hook play out their adventures. Similar to Storybook Land but with much larger miniatures and only Neverland scenes.

FLYING DUMBO---What Disney Park would be complete without the charming little elephant with the big ears.

SIMBA'S JOURNEY---Travel with Simba as he grows up to become King in this wonderfully moving dark ride.

SLEEPING BEAUTY---Help the Prince battle the Witch and save his true love with a kiss. For the most part a typical dark ride but the battle scene would be large scale.

THE RESCUERS---Help save Penny from the evil Maddame Medussa aboard your evenrude powered leaf boats.

ALLADINS MAGIC CARPETS---Journey with Alladin and Jasmine around the World to see wonderous sights. A whole new kind of ride vehicle using "boats" similar to those of It's a Small World but instead of water they are suspended by a cushion of air. Ride "flume" is made of see thru plexiglass that is kept so clean only those looking for it will see it.

MICKEY AND THE BEANSTALK: Journey up the beanstalk to the giants castle and help rescue the golden harp. Overhead omnivore ride vehicles take visitors past some of the most memorable scenes from the 'Fun and Fancy Free' classic. Upon returning to Happy Valley visitors stop inside a little house to see how pictures taken while they were riding turned out...if they look up they will see Willey the Giant lifting up the roof and peeking inside....guess he survives the fall.

    TOMORROWLAND:

STREET OF THE FUTURE: Take a journey to see homes of tomorrow including an undersea villa, urban loft, and a space apartment. Once again, omnivore ride vehicles take guests thru an attraction filled with futuristic visual delights.

STAR SHIP ORION: Walk thru this mock-up of a Nuclear powered space ship.

DISCOVERY MOUNTAIN: Take a journey from the dawn of Man to the conquest of Space...and beyond. Similar to the Spaceship Earth Attraction at Epcot.

QUEST FOR MARS: Visit mission control then travel to Mars...you control the ship. Basically the same as Mission Space in Epcot except with better special effects and graphics(and it's not set up as a "simulation" but instead the "real thing) and a somewhat more family friendly ride as far as g-force is concerned.

SKYWAY TO FANTASYLAND---One way trip with aerial view of the Magic Kingdom.

ENERGY---Journey aboard "sunshine ships" to see how man has dealt with his energy needs in the past and how he might handle those of tomorrow. The roof of the show building would consist of both solar panals and windmills providing much of the attractions energy needs directly.

FLYING CARS---Journey in and around Tomorrowland aboard these personal flying vehicles. The cars would not actually be flying but with optical camouflage and other effects would appear to both riders and people below to be doing so.

JOURNEY TO SEABASE ALPHA---Board submarines to take a trip to the depths of the sea and visit an ocean floor lab. Very similar to Disneylands submarine voyage but played more straigt up with realistic AA sea life...journey is interupted before docking with the seabase by a giant sea monster requiring the ship to return to the safety of Tomorrowland.

DISNEYLAND PERSONAL RAPID TRANSIT---4 person peoplemovers take guests for a tour of Tomorrowland, or to one of 4 nearby Reslort Hotels. Similar to the peoplemover but with an onboard computer that can communicate with guests and take them to their requested destination...directly or scenic route.

ROCKET JETS---Take an elevator up to the rocket platform then take off for a round and round trip high over Tomorrowland.

i would love to see a mary poppins ride using technology like in soarin over california while keeping it a moving ride as oppose to a ride that just sits in front of a screen. i dont know how they could do that but i would love to see a mary poppins ride that really has moving cartoons on screens around you....to really feel like ur in the movie. it could be like the ET ride where you sit on a bike (but there are a bunch of bikes in one bunch) but instead it would be on a carousel horse.

Is that a Disney movie? If so then that fits in well.
