Hehe, well, it's kind of backwards. The list on page 1 is more about things in the theme parks that were inspired or lifted from the animated films. The moment in Meet the Robinsons is inspired by the theme park.

Even though it's a tiny appearance, Bernard and Bianca from the Rescuers are a part of the Aladdin/Mary Poppins float of the Share a Dream Come True/Whatever Disney's calling it this year parade.

CB, you did see this when Kevin Yee posted about it, right? This is the first thing I thought of when I heard of this book.

Re: Theme Park Attractions, Shows, Shops Inspired by Disney Animated Films

    Wow. Nice.

I think of the Pixar films, Toy Story is definitely over-represented, and Up, Wall-E, and Incredibles are definitely UNDER-represented. They need to do something about that!

There are also a few recent and past Disney Animated films that are under-represented, too, but I think the problem there is they tend not to make theme park tie ins for recent stuff unless it's really popular. So Princess and the Frog, while totally deserving of soemthing, wasn't the huge hit that it would need to be for them to feature it more, sadly.

Oh, and one very small "fix" in the sake of completion: Lady and the Tramp has some of those big character icons at the Pop Century resort at WDW (in the 1950s section, and side note - those things are HUGE... they're like 40 feet tall).

Re: Theme Park Attractions, Shows, Shops Inspired by Disney Animated Films

Wow.. what a thorough list! I am VERY impressed.

Someone should seriously send a letter campaigning to the parks in care of the films that are completely not represented or 'under' represented as it were.

It's blatantly obvious that specific time periods are ignored including the WWII era, the late 60's-mid 80's (what would Walt do?) and the mid 2000s. There is absolutely NO reason whatsoever to ignore 'any' of the films in the Disney canon.

As many may know by my previous posts, some of my personal favorites include "Bedknobs and Broomsticks", "Sword and the Stone", "Jungle Book", "Petes Dragon", "Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom", "Pocahontas", "Hunchback of Notre Dame" and "Atlantis".

Not only would I like to see walkaround characters more evenly represented from these films, but it would be great to see merchandising and parade tie-ins. Disney has a tendency to over-market the "Princess" factor and it becomes very annoying. Let's dust off our beloved friends from the past and give them equal representation!!

I know the updated queue of "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" at Magic Kingdom has a reference to the Backson from the new Pooh movie.

Emperor's New Groove is the inspiration for Raging Spirits at Tokyo DisneySea. It may not use the characters, but it definitely uses the backgrounds.
