Talking Team Swan or Team Get Rid Of It: Pick 1

I'm always checking out everyone's trip report photos, actually it's one of the main reasons why I return to MiceChat. And I started to notice people talking about the Year of a Million Dreams' Swan that can be seen floating, bopping, drifting, swaying, in the water next to the castle.

Are you on "Team Swan" and you don't personally mind the swan. It can stay and have babies and breed and over populate Disneyland...

Or are you on "Team Get Rid of It" because, well I don't know, you have your reasons and I think everyone would love to hear them.

I am on Team Swan because I know it won't be there forever and it is just a dash of creation, a conversation starter, a "point and look at that" thing for families with kids, etc.

    What team are you on?

I am on Team Get Rid of It. I like the live pretty swans, not the fake, funky, swans on crack look...lol. I think it is a little much.

I don't even understand what it's supposed to add to the scenery. Aren't there supposed to be real swans?

Get rid of it. The moat is supposed to have real swans. Some of the other pastel "bling" is a little jarring also.

The "Mickey Floral" squiggles are cute, sorta. The entrance tunnel squiggles are over-the-top. The Main St. lamps are OK

The Esplanade lamp banners are just... are just... well... silly.

Great marketing synergy, guys & gals! The "Year Of A Million Dreams" is generally hued blue and silver (or white.) The "bling" is cheezy pastels. Continuity? We don't need no stinkin' continuity!

Is it Disneyland or My Little Pony Land?

    My Little Pony Land, indeed.

Disney has been stumbling tremendously with its marketing as of late. The Year of a Million Dreams has two distinctly different campaigns: the pastel swirls, and the blue&silver clouds. This only adds to the overall confusion of the campaign, as the two styles have a hard time meshing.

Its the same thing with Rockin' Both Parks having 3 different logos - the gothic font, the 80s font, and the font that was used in the in-park signage.

Its bizarre how the marketing for things has been all over the place lately. Its just weird.

Anyway, I don't need go into why I personally hate these swans again - there was a thread back when the swans first appeared that everybody already answered this question in, including myself.

    Team get rid of it.

The real swans is what makes it unique as Tom Chaney said.
1st Amendment-Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Another member of Team Get Rid Of It!!!!

Oh Lord, please don't let there be yucky swirls on our castle when they pull that tarp off....please! Or...since everything YOAMD has WDW's castle on it all over our park, I sort of expect them to tear ours down and build Cinderella's...

Oh I see the thread now, it's listed under Castle Moat, my bad for being redundant. I know many newish members are guilty of that. I did a search for "Disneyland Swans" and didn't find a thread with those key words. My bad!

Certainly a creative idea but I'd say it's backfired since it make all the birds abandon the lake. Get rid of it.

It all depends on a couple of things. If those multicolored vine thingies wind up crawling up the castle, and if they intend to never bring back the real swans then I am on Team Get Rid Of It.
